I'll start...

Sleigh Bells (4th line, really?)

Animal Collective/Mumford & Sons (hard to see them as subheadliners, damn)

Gogol Bordello (figured they'd be 3rd/4th liners at this point)

Elbow (same as above)

trentemoller (so low???)
beetroots and wiz (so high?)

I would not be surprised if the Poster undergoes some major changes in the next few days in terms of billing order. I have a hard time even making mock set times with the the way the poster is now.

Yeah the fact that Sleigh Bells are there two years in a row, let alone 4th line is criminal.

Bloody Beetroots, Chromeo, and Duck Sauce all billed over Leftfield.

Disgraceful.

Kings of Leon obv.

Huh? They're fucking huge. Why wouldn't they headline? Not that I agree with the pick.

JamesMills

Because they suck.

What does the dual Sunday headliners mean? Are Kanye and the Strokes gonna be on at the same time? Will the strokes be on the outdoor stage? That would suck...

Gord Downie at the bottom of Sunday? I suppose only Canadians would be appalled.

My guess is both play the main stage but Kanye plays last

Both are going to play the main stage, both get 75-90 mins sets compared to the normal 50 minute set. Kanye will be after the Strokes. Whats not to get?

Yes, they'll be playing the main stage at the same time together. They're just gonna have to deal with it.

Kanye's ego would devour us all if it were otherwise.

It really seems like the poster was just thrown together this year without much thought to proper billing order

That made me laugh. I saw him with 35,000 Vancourites in the palm of his hand when the Hip headlined a show in 1995. Now he's bottom line and probably has a 2pm slot on a side tent.

Good place to meet other Canadians seeing real sunlight for the first time in 2011.

lol people from Vancouver are called Vancourites? You learn something new every day.

I forgot the 2 years in a row part, making it even worse. What could anyone possibly see in this duo. horrible.

Don't forget Neon Trees.

Although I rather join the LRA and abduct children in Uganda and train them to use automatic machine guns than see Neon Trees, I was thinking more disgraceful in the realm of electronic music. Leftfield are legends.

I can't believe Trentemoller is billed so low. The other is Shpongle, especially if this is going to be their first ever live U.S. performance.

I thought The Aquabats would have been at the fifth or fourth line considering how big a following they have in So Cal.

sleigh bells very high
the whole second line Saturday very strange
Robyn the same line as the Chems
there are a lot of weird billings

Black Keys over Interpol along with Mumford & Sons and Animal Collective over Bright Eyes.
I don't see how that works

I think Wire's billing is pissing me off the most. Like a lot. Are The Kills really that big or is it just Dead Weather spill over?

iliketurtles
01-19-2011, 01:59 AM
The Kills formed in 2000 and Dead Weather in 2009.

TallGuyCM

He means are the Kills profiting off of a Dead Weather popularity spillover, which they are.

I dont understand this either...why not invite back Florence+The Machine or someone that has had success since last year?

well just look at the success black keys have seen recently and the success that interpol hasn't seen as of late. Interpol is my favorite band and I agree with this billing.

Yeah, it's very surprising given what you've witnessed back in the day.

Even in Vancouver, it has been grey skies for ages now... at least we don't have to shovel the rain... poor Edmontonians.

I saw Interpol in 2007 and Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz why did they invite them back? No stage presence, no personality, no energy. I might as well put on the CD and place a poster in front of me.
