Ratatat will probably be Outdoor Theater or Sahara. No way this is gonna fit in the Mojave. And I think everyone knows that it would totally fall flat on the main stage.

Holy shit, I thought they were just electronic... now I'm pretty excited, as I liked the album just didn't think they'd be that tight live since I'm not into electro. This is my fav song on the album too

I saw RATATAT in 07 and then again opening for Daft Punk at the sports arena show. I also caught one night at the Music Box for the LP3 tour and again at the Fox for the LP4 tour.

needless to say I'm super excited to see them on the lineup!!

I saw them when they came through Socal few months back (at the Ventura Theater of all places). They definitely were solid performers... but I'm thinking that venue was wrong for them. Here's hoping the polo grounds will give me a new perception on them. I love their studio albums to death.

i heard their live performances used to be pretty weak. saw them at club nokia last year and it was without a doubt one of the best shows ive ever been to. honestly sunday is too much amazing for one day to handle, with the exception of kanye west of course.

Kanye = Jay-Z. Both are famous, mainstream rappers with massive egos that hold little interest for me. But that's cool. Some people like that sort of thing. Godspeed.

i remember seeing them in 2007 (mojave or gobi? can't remember) and being blown away; they had a harder sound live than their albums do. i am very excited!

Saw them at the Palladium and they mimed to a backing track. There was no live sound at all. It was like sitting through a fucking rave.

Holy Shit their 07 set was my favorite of the whole weekend! I remember going to see Air by myself and it being super delayed so some random guy beside me shared a joint with me and then Ratatat and Rage blew my mind way out of this world!
That video sucks though. Shit sound quality. This one you have to see in person to understand the live energy.

they have come a long way since then, and to be fair, the LA crowd really didn't care about anything but seeing daft punk that night. Most of the crowd was basically talking to each other (presumably, about daft punk's awesomeness).

Plus they have 2 more albums now.

Dancing like a wild woman to "Shempi" and worshipping the music lords if that plays, as well.

ratatat, remember, banana. I enjoy typing remember the most.

On topic: Ratatat (i dont like typing that word) sucked when they closed out the weekend a few years ago. They sucked real bad. Boring, underwhelming, not exciting, a big MEH swept over the crowd that night.

I've listened to these guys for a long, long time but had never seen them live before Sunday. This was pretty much my favorite set of the weekend; I never stopped dancing. Seeing Trentmoller right before was perfect. It set the mood right and also allowed me to get up really close between the two shows. The only disappointment for me was that they didn't get to play longer. I will definitely be seeing them next time they come to town

Ratatat started a bit late; I remember twinges of restlessness in the crowd where I was, and my buzz from Trentemoeller started to come down a bit while I was waiting.

That said, they put on a great show. :) And scheduling them right after Trentemoeller was a stroke of genius on the part of the planners.

one of my "must sees" of the weekend and did not disappoint at all. i loved everything. my only gripe was i wished they played longer. you could tell they wanted to, also.

I loved the way they finished up seventeen years and then Mike said "so... I guess we're done... thanks!". they REALLY wanted to keep playing!!

also, it's amazing to see how much ratatat has progressed since their first coachella. when the 2007 lineup came out, I listened to every band on youtube, and there was really only 1 ratatat video posted. it was some show they did at a highschool and it was the cheesiest thing I had ever seen. I still downloaded classics anyways, and as I was listening to my coachella playlists to familiarize myself I would always find myself checking a song that I really liked and realizing it was ratatat.

to see them go from a white sheet hanging in the back of a makeshift high school stage to their full on production with holograms really makes me smile.
