AND City and Colour...

If you haven't seen Gord Downie's solo work live check out his show I shot back in September: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=DA148B7C20D17E3E

Oh and being able to see City and Colour and Gord Downie performing 'Sleeping Sickness' together is going to be a major highlight for me this year.

What do you think the crowd will be like? Me and you? The Hip never really broke through in the States.

I'm sure there will be a good Canadian contingent at Coachella.

I had this dream where I relished
The fray and the screaming that filled my head all day

What is his relationship with Dallas? I love City & Colour but have never heard of Gord Downie.

Will he play Hip songs, like Grace, Too?

There was a Virgin Festival in Calgary a couple years ago. City and Colour were playing, and the Hip were closing. Gord joined City and Colour on stage for a song.

On reflection this doesn't answer your question, but it is a fact.

I would love to see The Hip on the polo fields.
One of my alltime favorite bands.
Gord solo I'll check out.
Were a ton of canadians rockin out with us in the Mojave for Sloan in 2005.

Other than the collaboration they did for 'Sleeping Sickness' (the video I posted) and Gord opening for City & Colour at the El Ray Theatre in March, and that they're both Canadian?

I can't get behind this. I've never enjoyed the Hip (even saw them live). That makes me less Canadian I think.

Such a good song.

The Hip are severely underrated.

I don't really care for City and Colour (I have never really liked Alexisonfire either), but I feel like if I miss thier set and the Gord Downie collaberation, it would make me less of a Canadian.

Did we watch The Tragically Hip at Pemberton? I honestly can't remember.

I did see The Hip in 04 though and it was fantastic. Gord Downie is a great frontman.

Didnt The Tragically Hip play before or after The Flaming Lips? I remember watching from inside the dance tent area...waiting for Mstrkrft for hours...

Ah right. They did play right before the Flaming Lips. I remember watching the end of their set and not being too impressed. I think Gord was a little too drunk for his own good at that show.

Like I said though, when I saw them in 04 they were great.

I recall Pemberton being My Morning Jacket, T-Hip, Black Mountain(side stage) Flaming Lips then Tom Petty on Saturday.

I too remember Downie being more loopy than usual at that show. I saw them 3-4 times in the mid 90's then got bored with the albums after Henhouse.

I saw them in a club in Houston in like 1991 or so. they were fun in that sort of dumb way that canadians are.

Checking some recent solo setlists I don't see any obvious T-Hip songs.
