When I first saw the lineup, I was wondering where the fuck I would get some good '90s nostalgia from. I looked over them twice before I figured out who they were! A little "Animal Nitrate" will suit my weekend just fine!

Didn't have much time to review the lineup in detail last night; somehow didn't see them on the poster until this morning! This is absolutely wonderful news. I didn't even realize they had reunited. I assume Bernard Butler is not part of this reunion? What about Neil Codling? Didn't he leave the band after some illness?

So exciting! Suede is probably my 2nd favorite brit pop band after, of course, BLUUHHH. I'll be happy with whatever they play, though I would love to hear a few Head Music tracks. I know to some devotees this is sacrilege, but Head Music may be my favorite Suede album.

Agreed. If I had to guess, Suede would play at the Outdoor at sunset.

Conflict I'm concerned with is PJ Harvey v. Presets - I could definitely see PJ closing outdoor vs. Presets closing Sahara. Hopefully, they'll do the thing they did last year with the Outdoor being dark for the Sunday headliner's slot, allowing me to see both acts.

I'm hoping for that too, Sunday is so fucking stacked that tears will flow once the settimes are released. Conflicts will be inevitable.

I think Sunday is the weakest for me, though with the most conflicts - want to see Plan B, Presets, and every band in the top two lines.

Friday is the reverse, for me its Interpol and lots of bands in the smallest font I'm curious about (warpaint, hurts, cold cave, Pains OBPH, marina, titus andronicus, etc)

Saturday I have sorted - Wire, Suede and Radio Dept are must sees. I'd like to check out Gogol Bordello and New Pornographers. All those other bands I like I've seen before - the Kills, Mumford, AF, Elbow, Cage, Swell Season, etc.

"Holy fucking shit! Holy fucking shit." is all I was thinking and saying afterward. My Gawd. So epic.

I mean, I really had no idea how they'd come out and how they'd be received, cus I was at Wire beforehand and there were hardly any people (Wire was nevertheless brilliant btw). But Suede came out on fire from the get go and the crowd was massively into it. Everybody was singing and knew all the words...just like me. Pantomine Frozen Fucking Horsedick!..."I was born as a circus hand...". Jesus Christ. Unbelievable.

Thanks to the band and GV. And good job Neil on bass. Incredible.

P.S. I know what Handbanana is saying about the props. Didn't need em like, ehem, Scissor Sisters (how deflating was that after Suede? No offence. And I like SS). Just pure, primal lid blowing rock.

recorded track stops
to the drum kicks of she followed by woouu
there were no pauses between songs
every song ends to the riffs or beat of the next song
brett is above all i ever imagine
i couldnt take my eyes from him
he did the clap and right foot on the floor dance
he kicked a bottle of water to the air
he throws the mic to the floor
he played with the micro

i was following the mic in the air it was mesmerizing
at the end of lalala lalala
he keeps inciting people to a louder ovation
i was unaware that this was the end
he stands on a speaker
in a christ position with arms wide open
takes his right hand to his mouth
throw a kiss to the audience
followed by a bow down

PANTOMIME HORSE AND CANT GET ENOUGH WEAK SONGS

When 'Cant Get Enough' started I thought they were doing 'Elephant Man' from Head Music for some reason ("they're doin Elephant Man?" *scratches head* "Neil is forcing them to play one of his songs cus he has bass duties?"). Never was a huge fan of CGE, but I agreed with the sentiment for the night.

You are wrong about Pantomime Horse though. It was magical.

Amazing pics shmamber! It brought me back to Saturday nite all over with Elbow, BAD and of course Suede. I'm kind of wishing I got Schpongled though not that i regret catching the Kills who rocked.

Although it pains me to return to work and have people ask "Who?" whensaying that Suede was the best show of the weekend. The folks are about to get themselves an education.

Worth saying though that Suede's performance was not a Coachella-only phenomena. They could come back now and deliver that same kick ass performance anytime they like. They're that good.

I think it's amazing that I had yet to post in this thread considering I was beside myself with joy watching this set.
When So Young started I think I may have yanked my friend James' arm out of its socket. Thing is, he appeared normal after the show. It may have been someone elses arm. I was delirious.

was one of the best set crowds i'd ever been a part of @ coachella, and i was certainly not an avowed suede fan prior, in fact my 1st reaction to seeing them on the lineup was wondering if they might pull a 'sly and the family stone' - and man, i could not have been more wrong.

the energy from the stage to the crowd was truly infectious, and it just may well be the best set i see all year. they truly owned that hour.

The fact that no full audio has surfaced won't help anyone convincing other that this was one of the best sets all weekend. Even UK fans must have taped considering it's perhaps the only set done as a quartet.

Went for the DMS reissue (not a huge fan of the debut cept for bits & pieces like 'Breakdown' and 'Metal Mickey') and it shipped, but WTF on the ETA? Normally doesn't take that long.

Dispatched via Royal Mail (estimated arrival date: July 01, 2011).

Looking forward especially to hearing remastered 'Still Life' loudly in my car and the unedited versions of 'Wild Ones' and 'Arsefelt World' plus all the other bonuses. 'Modern Boys'. Great all-time record.

I preordered the first three albums on Amazon weeks ago. According to their estimates, Suede should be here any day and DMS will be here next week. Though I just tracked it and it hasn't shipped yet. Grr its like waiting for my coachella wristband all over again.

Coming Up was released in the UK today. They're doing all of them over the next few weeks.

They are making a new album.

And Brett's got another solo album coming out next month called, erm, 'Black Rainbows'. The title reminds me of that old Suede forum poster Adore who created gushing fansites dedicated to Brett's beauty and magical things like rainbows, Hello Kitty, and probably sprinkled cupcakes or something. Maybe she committed suicide, hence the album name. Anyone like his solo records? There are a few good ones...'Clowns', 'Ashes of Us', 'Funeral Mantra', 'Song for My Father', 'Back to You'. Listening now for the first time in a long time.

Been going since 2009, the Suede/Arcade Fire is probably the best back-to-back pairing in the four years I've attended. Both sets were magical. Pulp gets all the run now, especially in Britpop clubs here in SF, but Suede were always my favorite.
