Explain to me how these two statements line up.

Neil Young, Jack White (in any form), Rolling Stones and queens of the stone age don't equal "imaginative", "groundbreaking" "trendsetting" or "crazy" in any way.

I don't think these words mean what you think they mean.

Neil young would be all of those things and has been all of those things for a very long time. Jack white is one of the only artists in the rocknroll circuit who is progressing the genre itself. Rolling Stones are Crazy, Paved way for 50 percent of bands out there and are some kind of royalty. Last year had a lot more balls..

With the 1 oclock curfew set for fri and sat, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense that there are more bands on sunday then both of the other days. It's not the best lineup, but it's solid. So here's to hoping we get some late adds.

Also, Kanye West and the Strokes on the same line looks wrong. Perhaps a bigger act (The Who, Rolling Stones, RHCP, Coldplay, Radiohead-the last of which Kanye thinks is the greatest band alive) will be added, or at least a dj like Underworld...I can't tell who would be closing out the Sahara on Sunday.

Good lineup, could use some additions.

this years lineup is rather lack-luster. hopefully there are some good "surprise" adds and subtractions

mojavemolester

My addition hopefuls that are somewhat realistic:

Fleet Foxes
Four Tet
The Dodos
Underworld
Small Black
Pulp
Simian Mobile Disco
DJ Shadow
Wild Nothing
Fake Blood
Peanut Butter Wolf
The Dismemberment Plan
Guided By Voices
Teksteppa
Perry Farrell - not a wish but won't he eventually be added?
Radiohead - I had to

There really isn't anything on the lineup that I couldn't see at home this year. It's a little disconcerting that I'd rather go for the Spicy Pie than I would a huge piece of the lineup.

Also, wtf is with the bamboozle sunday?

.fun, Jack's Mannequin, Jimmy Eat World, She Wants Revenge, Neon Trees?

The crowd is going to be so fucking annoying this year.

Anywho, I needed to get that off my chest. I'm pretty stoked to see a lot of bands on there too.

Friday:
Beardyman - Black Joe Lewis - Excision - The Morning Benders - Titus Andronicus - Here We Go Magic - Boyz Noize - Cut Copy - Magnetic Man - Chem Bros - Black Keys

Saturday:
The Felice Brothers - Gayngs - Raphael Saadiq - Radio Dept - Cults - Tallest Man On Earth - Gogol Bordello - New Pornographers - Scissor Sisters - PVD - BSS - Suede - Empire of the Sun - M&S - Animal Collective - Arcade Fire

Sunday:
High Contrast - Joy Orbison - Caspa - Twin Shadow - Phantogram - Delorean - Green Velvet - Duck Sauce - Ratatat - DFA1979 - The National - The Strokes - Kanye

lol.. Good thing I obviously won't be needing to fly down from Vancouver for this for the 3rd time. Coachella's days as anything remotely underground or innovative are clearly done if they keep this up

no "always sunny" or mew....bummed out since i thought thought those were pretty likely. whats up with sleigh bells again. I had to endure them 4 times last year...

oh well still a lot to get excited about

Flight canceled, hotel canceled.

I already have tickets to see most of the bands that I want to see right here in Chicago.
Of course there are a few regrets (DFA1979, CSS, Moving Units, Suede, and Leftfield), but I'm sure a few of those will also end up here....

I'm excited to see the bands that are unknown to me. Each year when the line up is presented I realize how much 'I don't know about music" and it's a gift to discover what I have yet to love. Each Coachella delivers a magically delicious sampler platter in which I induldge in trying new bands!!! Some of those bands will become my favorite and make me GLAD that I went....despite the news of wanting certain bands and feeling disappointed that I didn't get them. It's not about the headliners for me, or who was supposed to come back to Coachella and goddamit where are they, it's about who's playing there for the first time that will BLOW MY FUCKING SHOES OFF!!!!! Yaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy!! kick ass fucking sweet balls line up- Thank you

well, I feel Jack white is one of the only rockers out there that is actually adding something to the genre, improving Blues/rock. Rather then 90% of new rock which is rehashed old shit with no added value. He's one of the only ones that knows how to bring it and has rejuvenated the genre.

You're decision makes me cry a tear of joy. I completely agree with the last poster that said each year is a journey and an experience with new bands. With that said, new nostalgia is cracking me up with his bitterness. I sorta feel for him and agree
That it doesn't even have ONE seriously good headliner.
