At least it wasn't in the Lenny Kravitz thread. Being from Minneapolis, it would be nice to see him out of this area.

His 2009 performance was really really good

He was good in 06 too. I don't mind Slugs and Ants on the polo field, but I would probably watch something else.

If were gonna get backpack rap, it should be Atmosphere. Though I am sure there are a couple of others I would like to see that havent played Coachella

I like to avoid as many LA teenybros as possible. I mean, they're good and all, but the fucking crowds...

They closed out the outdoor that night against the Killers, if they brought them back it would prob be against someone else relatively big, and would prob skip.

As far as the why? goes SD....

Slug and Ant released an album this past year that had no physical realease aside from the copies that were sold on tour. "To All My Friends", a double ep, had zero marketing budget and still managed to reach number one on the URB's Readers Poll for BEST OF 2010 -

felt would be sweet. i'd be down for that, and either of those acts actually, last time i saw atmosphere is was a great time.

Great suggestion of Felt. We have seen Murs and we have seen Atmosphere, having them together at Coachella just sounds like it would work perfectly

i still say if your gunna come and blow the kidiez away w/ a super rare performance... bring Atmosphere, but also the rest of Deep Puddle Dynamics and have them do "Taste of Rain' in its entirety..... indie hip-hop super group.

To tell you the truth the hip hop rumors this year have been really slow, I haven't heard any names thrown around other than the usual Outkast/Big Boi/Dr. Dre rumors. Last year we had De La, Wale, B.o.B, and Jay Z.

De la - classic act
Wale, B.o.b - hot acts at the moment
Jay Z obviously just a big name headliner

The classic act this year could be Tribe or Outkast/Big Boi or Wu ( or some configuration of Wu's lineup). For the hot acts at the moment, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw Wiz Khalifa or Currensy (though I think Wiz is super overrated).

Tribe, Pharcyde, Big Boi, Lauryn or the Fugees, Wu, Kanye, Beastie Boys.... theres a lot of possabilites.

Does Fat Lip even perform anymore? I saw pharcyde a few years ago in Boulder and it was just booty brown and one other dude trying to stumble through a set.

I think the Roots are a possibility... new critically acclaimed albumb

talk about grass roots, in regards to their last album. taking it back to the old skool ways. i had no idea this album was released

Felt! I have yet to see Murs or Atmosphere, but i'd prefer Slug to be on stage with Murs than with Ant.

I'm basing this off of the fact that all three times I've seen Atmosphere, the crowd has mostly consisted of college bros, high school bros, and their "OMGIMSODRUNKLOLOLOL" girlfriends. I mean, there'll be plenty of that at Coachella anyways, I'd rather just avoid the largest concentrations of it.

I could see The Pharcyde playing Coachella. They have been touring a lot the past year, and they totally fit the Coach vibe

Huh? Is this a legitimate rumor? I have heard the Lauryn rumor, but this would make my year.

its as legitamate as anything else... a lot of me feels the solo stint at Rock the Bells was in an effort to get her back on her feet again. Personaly i thought she did quite well, and if the offer was big enough i dont see why not.... Not like the Fugees are doing anything else at the moment.

atmosphere would be welcome on the lineup. i probably wouldnt end up seeing them (again) but it would be comforting to see atmosphere on the lineup. I think theres a pretty good chance of the roots playing (based solely on their current buzz). Lets see what goldenvoice throws the hip hop heads this year
