I just found out that The The is still very much active and prepping for a bunch of re-releases. It would be great to see Matt put the 1989 lineup with Johnny Marr back together and do some dates.
Late night on Outdoor would be ideal, but I think they could really work in the intimacy of the Gobi.

Matt released a new record a few months back called "Tony" and if you subscribe to his website you get his monthly radio show emailed to you. So glad this genius is back to work!

Tony was just a score to a film.

I'd love nothing more than to see TheThe at coachella.

However, after the way the Meltdown gig was received by fans, I don't see him firing up the live machine any time soon.

I hope I'm wrong.

Yes it's a film score but still very much a The The record.

Absolutely support. His entire career is fantastic. NakedSelf especially finds itself in my regular rotation.

I didn't like NakedSelf at all when it came out. Since then ive grown to think it's one of his very best.

it was hugely different from a lot of his previous work to be sure, but the songwriting is incredible

NakedSelf is a great record. I also recommend listening to Burning Blue Soul a few times thru headphones you will find gold!

I always though it was crazy that Matt was only like 21 yrs old while writing Soul Mining.

Mind Bomb was one of those pivotal listening experiences for me. I was 17 when it was released, and it hit exactly the right spot. Glad to hear Matt is recording again; wasn't he so soured by the way his label marketed NakedSelf that he was supposedly retiring?

There were reports of him roaming around remote parts of Africa but since then I read he cleaned up and is back..

I related so much to this band on so many different levels. I last I caught him was at the HOB on sunset for the Naked Self Tour.
