Since they more popular now than ever, maybe we can get that drummer dude and the bassist who replaced the original bassist to put together a new band. They can go on on the main stage right before Soundgarden.

Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg would be nice.

It would be more successful if they called it the Ramones.

Marky Ramone/CJ Ramone/Daniel Rey - that's almost the Ramones right there.

I love The Ramones but worst idea ever
I did get to see The Ramones back in 95 and it was fucking awesome

It's really the songs that matter to your average concertgoer and some sort of association with those who originally performed them. I am sure the Coachella crowd wants to hear those songs. I Wanna Be Sedated, Beat On The Brat, What I Like About You; those songs would send the whole field into a frenzy.

The Ramones without Joey and Johnny is not the Ramones and has no buisness on the polo fields
Fuck it lets reunite Nirvana without Kurt Cobain, people really want to hear those songs at Coachella also.

It wasn't the Ramones without Dee Dee. Until it was.

I'm all for it.

Hot on the heels of their lifetime acheivement grammie. I wonder if it's supposed to tie in with the Coachella announcement?

Except it wouldn't be the Ramones... AT ALL.

No Joey, No Johnny = No Ramones

This thread is a giant fail at life.

Hey...didn't The Clash just win a Grammy or something?

Didn't they already do this as Cut/Copy?
Seriously, a Ramones reunion--although a nice dream--isn't a reality without Joey and Dee Dee. I'm glad I got to see them the couple of times that I did back in the day.

He means Carbon/Silicon.

And Paul Simonon was not a member of Carbon/Silicon and, furthermore, Carbon/Silicon sound nothing like The Clash.

Thanks Rage. C/S were decent, but no closer to The Clash than TGTBTQ. The Mescaleros were decent, but no post-Clash project can rival the original.

I saw them in our campus auditorium in about '92 or '93, and it was awesome. Now, it doesn't make sense.

Yeah, except for there being no original members of The Ramones and all.

EDIT Hate when I fall for a thread bump.

GV has a good track record for only booking "reunions"/"legacy" acts with principle members intact. Partial reunions happen under other brand names.

The Specials/Jerry Dammers was a weird exception. Kraftwerk were down to a lone original member but that was after the were booked. Squeeze was 2 principles and a bass player from the mid 80's. NIN and BJM really only have 1 principle member.

Curious if GV would avoid booking acts like New Order or The Cars with principle members missing?
