It's not going to be as bad as Glasto, but I sure as fuck hope it doesn't rain. It rained in Indio very close before the fest the last two years.

It's never rained at coachella. But if it did that would be really interesting.

This is a good question in regards to the new car camping, if it rained anything like it's raining right now I would think some cars would get stuck or something.

Unless you waited till the weekend before to buy your tickets and what not wouldn't it be pretty much mandatory?

The rains almost never comes down very hard in the valley. With that said, a light drizzle would be welcome in the heat.

The main thing that would really suck if it rained would be all of the people in the Gobi/Mojave/Sahara that don't care about the band playing and would normally be at the Main or Outdoor stages but are just using it for shelter.

Seriously though, it's rain, people. It would mean no lines for showers and free water refills without having to buy a $10 plastic bottle.

Bring tons of socks and ponchos. Man up. Who is going to let something as piddly as Mother Nature kill the buzz?

Imagine the sound of raindrops hitting the tops of 10,000-13,000 tents and canopies on the polo field for about 10-20 minutes, and then it just stops. Pretty cool, I think.:thu

A lot of you guys are acting like you've never been to a camping festival where it rained or do some of you guys only go to Coachella as far as camping festivals go?

Just man up.

It rains at the majority of Australian camping festivals these days, it's not 'that' bad just come prepared.

The trouble is at an event like Coachella, most would neither expect or be prepared to deal with a good rain shower. Rain in April in Indio would be unexpected.

The most common problem with rain at festivals is those people who buy a cheap tent and never bother to seal the seams of the tent. Usually that results in a shower causing a dripping inside the tent and a very miserable night with wet sleeping bag.

The majority of people come prepared to tackle the heat, so a rain shower would really be a problem for the flip flop wearing, unprepared camping crowd.

Can people stop bumping this thread? The only thing worse than rain at Coachella is a continued reminder of the idea.

Oh, and April, on average, seems to be the 2nd driest month for Indio at .06".

Last year, driving back to our condo one night (Sunday, I think), we got a few raindrops. Just enough to turn on the wipers, and then they were gone.

So, last year everybody bitched about the lack of showers, and this year, before tickets are even being sold, you're already bitching about a little bit of rain? It's a desert, for Christ sakes! Haven't any of you ever danced in the rain?
