the guy is from Hokkaido, Japan, runs some industrial manufacturing company, and makes disturbingly catchy lo-fi gems. this might be too late since the lineup comes out next month. if so, consider this a very early 2012 request

I have his Jet Set Siempre cassette and it fucking rocks. Does he tour and stuff?

i sure hope so. he seems elusive. the only press i could locate in which he willingly participated was a short list of things to do in Hokkaido. i can't even find a picture.

The dude is elusive as hell. His siempre tape is being put on vinyl and the record company said they received a postcard from Mongolia from him and thats about as much as they know. I love his tape sooooo much.

Clive Tanaka is from Japan. Maybe. He also may be a computer. Or a dude from Chicago. Or a hikimori from Hokkaido. Does it matter? THIS TAPE IS AMAZING! Electronic music made "For Dance" (side 1) and "For Romance" (side 2), this is grooving music of the highest caliber. He's been getting A+ reviews all over the interwebs and he deserves it! But to add to his coolness he is totally mysterious! He sent us a postcard from Mongolia with a quote from Magnum PI that read, "Time has little to do with infinity and jelly donuts," after his American representative, Francis Hofstetler (who coincidentally(?) shares the same name as a character in Magnum PI) told me he was off to Portugal and Clive was going to Mongolia to look after their mining concerns.....OK! As long as the music is good -- and it is!
Aka his mom's basement! It's still amazing.
