Me and two of my friends are stuck. What are people doing for places to sleep? Are there other camping grounds anywhere near Indio (don't mind driving 20-30 minutes outside, or further if necessary)? Do people sleep in cars?

Because I'm obviously not the first person in this situation. Any ideas?

Just take as long as humanly possible to leave the grounds each night (like be the last one out), and then take forever walking back to your car, and then...

Check couchsurfing.

I think there is one guy on there.

Someone should check that out for real.

Go to craigslist.com and look up "vacation rentals" in Palm Springs. Most are a little pricey, but it's an option.

I did check [CS].

There was one guy. Only one, last time I checked.

He looked creepy too.

I still have an extra room reserved that I don't need, but Best Western is being bitchy and doesn't want me to transfer the name on the reservation. If anyone can figure out how to do that, the room is totally yours.

Good luck, hopefully you'll find something. Maybe you should start talking to friends to see if they know anyone who owns a house up there. That's what I did for this year.
