I risked my job to get my tickets. My boss said that if I'm caught surfing the internet at work again, I'm going to be fired on the spot. (Seems a bit silly considering how well I do at my job and my web surfing never consumes more than 5 minutes, but whatever.) So I updated my credit card information, opened the store, and selected two tickets. While I was still waiting for the page to load, my manager called and asked me questions about what I'd done the past three days when she was out -- I don't know how I answered anything coherent, my mind was focused on Daft Punk. And after I got my confirmation number written down, the owner of the company showed up. Talk about the nick of time! Haven't gotten anybody to go with me yet but I figured if no friends or family members want to accompany me on the trip, I'll have no hassle finding someone to sell my extra ticket to. So I got floor general admission #261 & 262. I knew they must have been going fast but I didn't realize exactly how lucky I was. So fucking stoked! Their set last year was the best performance I figured I would ever experience -- looks like I'm gonna be proven wrong!

By this logic the adress should say INGLEWOOD correct? It doesnt, it says LOS ANGELES. If the Sports Arena is in Inglewood that means USC is in Inglewood. Also the Los Angeles Science Center and Natural History Museum are in Inglewood also because they are all within a mile of each other.

No I didnt. I seriously wish I had though. But from what I have heard, they are cannot miss act. That is why I am going to this Seattle show. They were one of the main reasons I was considering going last year. So now that I have the chance... I must go.

I paid that much to sit in the nosebleeds at Glendale Stadium for The Stones and Alice Cooper and trust me that is nowhere near the greatness that Daft Punk at Red Rocks will be,plus you will be 100 times closer.Of all the venues,that and the Greek is where I would choose to see them,if I could.

Havocquarum...sure it's ok with me if you wanna crash at our place that weekend. We have plenty of room in the basement, and sleeping bags, and a camper too if you want to crash outside. If you're gonna fly in let Ron know and we could pick you up from the airport...we're only 15 minutes from DIA.

Wait until the onsale, pre sale is not all the tickets for the concert. There will be a good amount of floor tickets to buy up.

we- me and my friend went to an fye store where they have tm at 11am and so we just asked if the system was functioning correctly just to make sure you know, and the lady, dare i say motherfucking bitch! told us ugh yeah it is. fine we went to buy a jacket and just hanging around the mall. and we came back at 11.50 and at this time no one was there except us. so we got the new modest mouse album and the paris, texas dvd (my favorite movie btw) ok and then the mkfuckinbitchingfucking person told us no i am just here for tickets and then she yelled COSMO! which is a funny name. so we just had to laugh, but we didn't do it at his face!
oh well. we bought our stuff and then along came another guy. and i asked him are you here for daft punk too? and he said yes so we started talking and i told him i already got tickets at pre-sale (floor) but since i got em for will call well i just wanted to make sure i had them in my hands whatever. but my friend DIDNT. and the lady told him i am not gonna sell him tickets because he's gonna sell them on ebay. and my friend told me that but i didnt believe him. i mean cmon who would say a thing like that? and i wasnt even gonna do that aghhhh ok then while talking to the other guy he told me had tickets too but not for floor. and he wanted that. so we all wanted floor. we are clear on that.

BECAUSE ITS BETTER TICKETS AND YOU CAN SAVE MONEY. You are the reason I can go to any ticketmaster outlet on a saturday morning full of major onsales and find NOBODY waiting around an outlet to get tickets. Its a lost art form and its a shame its going away because everyone relies on a computer. Then what do I hear when this stuff happens and things sell out in 2 minutes? Oh the site crashed, oh my comp froze, oh I got an error when buying. F**k thoses errors, the ticketmaster system has just been updated actually at all outlets so its easier to do stuff. Although the old "Ticketron" system(yeah I am dating myself, props to whoever remembers that) was faster than the windows based system now but still very efficient. Outlets > Online. I only use online for presales if I know its going to sell out fast.

well, i cant say because i havnt been to a ticketmaster outlet in a while, but i have found it WAYY easier to get the tickets i need from my computer at home. Ive never had any errors or crazy shit happen, and i do buy most of my tickets at presale, whether it be AFI (Back in the day, im talkin 5-6 years ago) or Daft Punk today, i find that buyin tickets from the confort of my house is worth the extra 3.90 in charges, and i probably save atleast that much in gas not having to drive around. Plus i never have to deal with anyone, no people waiting inline in front of me at 10 am, not having to deal with having to get there at 6AM to make sure you are first inline.........

I used to work at Tower Records, and of course we were also a Ticketmaster outlet. I will say, that the TM Outlet systems run WAY faster than your standard dsl/cable connection. The IP address is recognized by TM's servers, allowing for the outlets to get somewhat of an edge over peeps at home.

It only sucks if you have to wait behind some dumb fuck who wastes time, not having their credit/cash ready, being indeceisive, etc...

I always try to go to the actual venue box office and buy tix there (ala fuck you service charges). But sadly, hardly any venue's box office are open during on sales, only day of the show.

I used to run the TicketMaster at the Tower Records in Brea a few years back. It always amazed me at how inefficient some people could be when they were operating the system. It was incredibly easy and extremely fast (better then online I assure you) when done correctly. For sales like this we would hold all the people in line and just print out 8 tickets over and over and then sell them afterwards. it's true..i went to an outlet to buy tix to the foo fighters acoustic show at pantages and was in line for almost 15 minutes and still got a pair, but online they were sold out in a couple minutes! i think ticketmaster holds more tickets for outlet sales sometimes as it is harder for scalpers to get as many.

General admission for everything. Your ticket is just designated to 3 areas. Floor, Loge or Concourse, all general admission. So the earlier you get there the better seat you could get if you have seats and the closer to the frnont you are if you have floor.

No, you do not have to sit down. Lets say you are in line for the show right? Alright, they open the doors and everyone starts walking in, getting their ticket scanned, patted down etc etc. You get into the arena and go up the stairs to the seating level your ticket is. Yours is Loge for example, so you go to the first level of seats. You then go and find a seat you want to have and sit there. By no means are you requiered to sit during the concert like I said. But the seat is your place to be for the concert though.

OK, how can they not play longer than 75 minutes on their own headlining tour? A festival set is usually shorter than a full set by any act that is headlining. The dvd is more of a toss up than them playing longer. It will end up being a solid 90 - 100 minute set from them this time around.

this isn't true. i saw them in dublin (they were playing marlay park the night after radiohead), and it was their own show. they had four openers (dj falcon, fancy, justice, and digitalism), but it was still their own concert they were headlining. i remember actually being surprised when it ended, because it lasted about as long as their sets for coachella and pukkelpop... as in, they played the same songs for the same amount of time, but just with different mixing (like in belfort).

i'm not saying that this summer's set won't be longer than last summer's - personally, i think it will be, because i think the reason why the set was the same length for all the shows last summer, including dublin's non-festival show, was because 95% of the shows they played were festivals and there wasn't any point in making it longer just for the dublin show when they already had a mix that was working. but headlining their own show doesn't necessarily guarantee a longer set.

im gonna disagree though, this is thier FIRST HEADLINING TOUR IN 10 years in the U.S. Im pretty sure not only are they gonna have a longer set, but we might expect to see a lot more crazier things than the festivals...........you know daft punk always comes to completely destroy your expectations!

no, i agree, i think their set this year will definitely be longer and probably more amazing. i just wanted to point out that they headlined a show last year and it was still the typical 75-minute set that they've been doing.

well, i know for the berkeley gig they are screwed. doesn't the greek theatre have an 11 pm curfew, or something? I think because it's in the middle of all those houses. if daft punk are playing a longer set, then the first of the four bands must have to start at 6 pm or something... who's going to be there that early?

then again, I remember that happening at the curiosa tour a few years back. mogwai were left playing to near empty arenas. such a waste.
