i went to best buy and they didn't have it. so i went to virgin megastore and paid $30.00 for the deluxe edition they had the regular edition for 15.00.. Yikes! But I am reliving that LA Sport Arena and Vegoose moment all day! Somehow the Coachella bootleg that took me all day in that summer day in 2006 to download sounds a little better cause it doesn't have so much crowd noise and it's from the sound boards. i will be happy to make a copy of that historic soundboard quality cd for a copy of that good vegoose bootleg i keep hearing good reviews about. i've been trying to find it online but can't. Just private message me if you are intrested.

Went to Best Buy. They said they had 2 copies of the standard cd and 1 copy of the deluxe but couldnt find it. Went to borders and they just had one deluxe copy. got it for $26. Great cd. Sound quality is much better than expected after hearing people talk down about it.

I got the delux for (after taxes) $28 at HMV. They only recieved two copies. The first one sold the second the gates oppened apparently. I had mine on reserve. If I hadn't it would have been gone. They told me they are getting in some more next week. But there has been such high demand for it (its been out for less then 24 hours by the way) that they have already ordered more. It seems like the record stores underestimated the might Daft Punk.

Totally worth it. I dont know what everyone is talking about... but the sound quality on Alive 2007 is great! It sounds even to me on both my speakers. The bass is very well balanced too. The audience levels are perfect too. I think they did a great job mixing it.
Maybe the torent you all downloaded it from was tainted or something. All I know is my Alive 2007 sounds great. Also, the deluxe edition is well worth it.

Also, what does everyone think of the video? It has some great shots... but at times I felt like I was going to have a ceisure. Still, its a cool looking video.

The sound is definitely tops and that's the main reason why i love it...

I'd say I love it just as much as the Vegoose boot. No more, No less. That's because the boot has the entire intro and outro, the sound is obviously not as good as Alive, but still great for a boot, and I was there, so it holds a special place in my heart.

anyone with a small amount of brains knows that buying in the store will almost always get you the goods sooner than a pre-order. we pre-ordered it for the free posters we're supposedly getting with them (as advertised by the official site, no less).

besides with all this mess of stores selling out, how many people that didn't pre-order it are going to have to wait another week anyway? I know mine is in the mail, so I don't need to worry about rushing to the store a second time next tuesday.

to almost negate what I previously said about preorders, my preorder from insound arrived today. AND I got the free posters. take THAT, everyone else.

they're pretty awesome, except for the fact that they were shipped folded in four. they're not creased, but they each have three curves that I have to work out of them now.

they're sweet posters though. the first two are images they had on their site at the time (below), and the third is a vertical poster with the alive logo and the entire 2006-2007 tour dates. each is roughly 16"x40". I might use them to decorate my cube at work.

it was really good. the opening acts were disposable but sebastian and kavinsky fucking tore it up. they dropped about 4 new tracks which were insane. wyatt has videos from it we will have to post cuz it was that fucking good.

it may sound harsh but its so true. it was cake. i tried to move around a lot though. i started out on the side of the arena in the balcony basically in line with the pyramid so i could see both them and the crowd. and then i moved to the back of the arena second story. then down to the floor in the back. then all the way up front. and ended right by the sound board. it was fun to catch the show from so many different spots because it accents different things visually.

My biggest complaint with the deluxe edition, as I believe shakermaker noted before, was that some fucking yahoo thought the blue "Daft Punk Deluxe 2CD Edition" sticker was supposed to go on the cover of the CD case itself instead of on the packaging. If that fuck up alone isn't grounds for them to issue more copies to stores, I don't know what is!

It's not really a CD case...it's a 50-page book with pockets for the cd's. Don't forget to mention the "Made in Holland" sticker that's on the backside.

The sticker doesnt really bother me. Has anyone tried to peel it off? it doesnt seem like it would do any damage. i havent looked that closley at it but it seems more like a vinyl sticker or something rather than paper

After reading your post, signmeup, I decided to try to take the sticker off...and it worked! And just now, I took off the "Made in Holland" sticker, too. There was absolutely no residue left behind, no damage to the photo book case (you made a good point, GPS). So if that bothered you like it did me, rest assured that it doesn't have to -- you may remove it without injuring the look of your special edition case.

EDIT: So is this the first CD release of Daft Punk's to not have their logo on the cover? I've just got a burned copy of Daft Club so I'm not sure about that one, but otherwise their logo's been on everything they've released, even Alive 1997.

Well Technically no, but I would say yes, this is the first of their albums not to have their logo on the cover. Daft Club only says "Daft Club" but its in the "daft punk" font and style.

I also think thats why they put the sticker on the album too.

actually im fesh out of highschool. i used to work for my parents who have a lot of business in europe so those shows just sorta happened to be in the right place at the right time. the japan shows were cheap because a friend of mine (sign me up), his mom is a flight attendant and got us cheap ass plane tickets. and then i just worked a ton of hours so i could afford the stateside shows. nothin special. just got a low overhead and a lot of daft love :)
