Its sad that most of the those Pheniox fans didn't give a shit when they noticed Daft Punk on stage (second video).

I guess it is also sad that DP associates with Pheniox, bc DP is with no exaggeration AT LEAST 55 million times (sounds about right....) better/more legit than Pheniox.

Well, it's also the 5th largest city in the US, and a pretty famous mythological character. Also, as Scroobius Pip will tell you, some people insist on spelling it Pheonix. And finally, there was a shitty 90s band that spelled it Fenix.

Congratulations, you managed to get nowhere close to any of those spellings.

Yeah, because no act wants to perform anywhere there might be some audience anticipation, ever. Further, no one is assuming Daft Punk is obligated to play - some of their fans are simply hoping they will in light of their surprise appearance at Phoenix's show and subsequent tour announcement. Sounds like an appropriate topic for the "Rumors/Gossip/Wish List" forum to me.

I really don't see that...I mean it's not like Daft Punk is any larger than Jay-Z who just dropped by the festival while on a stadium tour which is expected to be the same case with Daft Punk in 2011...and the lineup in 2010 was quite awesome I must say...also, they wouldn't be anywhere
near what it cost GV to book Roger Waters and Paul McCartney and
neither of those really jeopardized a solid lineup, obviously those guys are
on a entirely different level...The only affect Daft Punk would have on
the festival is just by making it that much more awesome!

Matt, I think it's very sweet of you to actually provide a full definition of the obviously annoying DP fans instead of piling us all into the same fan group. For the record, I can probably only name 5 of their songs by name, but after owning 2 copies Homework, 2 of Alive, Discovery, Musique Vol.1, and Human After All, it doesn't matter when I like everything they've done
From the moment the intro to Close Encounters started in the Sahara 2006, I've never really addressed any of Daft's stuff by song title because I generally listen to it from start to finish. The Tron soundtrack should prove to be an interesting change, but I don't doubt them and know I'll be a happy camper when my copy arrives.

Matt, I think it's very sweet of you to actually provide a full definition of the obviously annoying DP fans instead of piling us all into the same fan group. I'd like to think I represent the easily excited, mature, dedicated fan base that has loved them since they blew my mind to oblivion in 2006.

I get it, you're one of those DP fans that got into them since Discovery, or even worse, Human After All lmao

Majority of these dumb DP "fans" can't even name a single thing off of Homework other than 'Around the World' perhaps.

Can someone explain to me why so many people on this board are obsessed with the types of people who go to Coachella? I keep reading about how people can't stand hipsters or ravers - which have always taken up a large portion of the crowd - and don't want (insert popular and/or trendy act here) on the lineup because it would bring a certain type of fan (that is going to be there anyway) that would seemingly ruin the festival for them.

I have an idea - shut the fuck up about what type of crowd an artists brings. Unless they start booking acts like ICP, Kottonmouth Kings, Brotha Lynch (or any modern bay-area/sacramento rap) or Tech N9ne, the crowd is going to be virtually the same each year.

Sure they'll bring a bunch of IT geeks out if they ever book someone like Tool as a headliner again, but why let it bother you?

If you're worried about hipsters or ravers, stay the fuck home.

hehehe I posed as rolling stone to bring you this exclusive article. Enjoy straight from the mouth of Ryan Smith,(sorry bro is your reading this)the spokesman of TTT, to us the fans.

Article he wrote for me/Rolling Stone

Headline: "Confirmed: The Third Twin will perform at the Arenal Sound 2011, Spain."

Much has been made in the last year about the mysterious electronic band, "The Third Twin" Finally exclusively for Rolling Stone Magazine can reveal unpublished information from the mouths of artists.

The Third Twin known in the world of electronic music shot to fame last summer when a stranger came his album "Homemade" on Internet by passing as the album of Daft Punk for the movie Tron. Since then hundreds of thousands of people have been very interested in hearing from those DJs who have mastered a very original French House and twist it to the absolute limits to create striking melodies intertwined with that feeling that few bands achieve. Jobs at numerous clubs and requests for interviews were often has its spokesman, but so far little or nothing was known about this enigmatic band of DJs.

The Third Twin will perform in Spain in the Arenal Sound 2011, Macro-Festival on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, where you can listen as they develop these French for the first time in a Festival that will feature some 108,000 spectators along its 2011 edition. The FIB-Heineken, Coachella Astropolis or are other major festivals around the world where, according to his spokesman are looking to collaborate.

RS Why the name The Third Twin?
T.T.T1. There is no special reason, it's just an old joke during our early school years. I remember that many people in the school claimed to be our brother, he too was our sister, the third twin. Hence the name.

T.T.T2. To me it's a very smart antithesis, is the coexistence between the possible and the impossible, as well as twins we are particularly attached to that name. We are twins, and the third is the public when it gets connected to us.

RS What motivates you when making music?
TTT1 For us music is a fundamental expression, an instinctive way of transmitting primary emotions. There are many sounds in nature that can transmit these feelings. For us music is a form of emotional programming that is universal mode of intellectual configuaración. We often refer to this as programming by ear, that is, who created us as human beings endowed with emotions and intellect should use the ear and not the view in the complex process of learning our rational, intellectual, logical and mathematical.

T.T.T2. In fact we support the hypothesis that living beings on the planet were released from primitive functions. Which needed activation mechanisms. For us there are clearly defined biological performances by musical elements. For example, the frequency of a heartbeat requires synchronization, music is a perfect way to synchronize sequences. But this functionality is not limited to physiological reality, also intellectual. Music can be understood as individual geometric wire. Which require a certain logic to their knowledge and appreciation. In all of our songs we have introduced in the frequency ratios to the repetitions or the melodies themselves.

RS What was the process of recording your first album?

TTT1 Well, making music is something we have done since childhood, during adolescence may feel a greater need to reflect and share our world view. In relation to the process of recording our first album: Homemade, was a real crazy experience, we take a summer locked in the basement of our house. I remember it was an amazing summer, just went out to buy canned food or make some calls.

T.T.T2. I remember that we preferred the red light down there, so the old paint storage bulbs to get that effect. Experimentation has always been present. We are guided by standards. The truth is that we had numerous problems when recording, both the outdated material, and the status of this. Most of the material, all of the 70 inherited from our father, who liked music DJing every Saturday at the club. He was literally torn apart. The worst thing is interference from the spliced cables, it was all pretty Homemade, hence the album name.
I recommend listening to the album homemade very low and with a dim red light, that is how it was conceived.

RS What is the fundamental element in your music?

T.T.T1. If I had to mention something of their own in our songs this would be the emotions. We always try to induce certain emotions that we consider essential, such as euphoria, rigor, energy, discipline, capacity for suffering, revenge ...

T.T.T2. We intend for the public is with his emotions through his mind, reliving old times and lived, or others who come. Is a very basic question after all.
