Best non-Prince set at Roskilde. No youtubes can be found of that particular show, maybe because everyone was one sweaty dancing mess in a packed tent at like 3 in the morning. Chiapet can back me up.

They reeeeeally need to play in the US. At Coachella would be fine. :)

These guys were so much fun and so weird. You should post a few pictures from their set.

Wow, this is shit tons of fun

Their set at Roskilde was completely off the wall mad bonkers. Never seen anything like it before really and the crowd was one non-stop dance moshpit.

You don't know the half of it! Salah should post his pictures from Roskilde... :nono

I attempted to upload pictured the other day and my computer wasnt having it!

i want this....bad! holy crap, you guys weren't kidding when you told me about this band. can you imagine how much this would go off late night in the Gobi. fuck that...if/when they play here, it's going to be totally insane. it had just better be on a weekend night, because i see a massive bender happening around this show!

where are they from?

The videos don't even do justice to how fun, but weird and random, their performance is. It's hard to even describe, it's like circus animal burlesque. The part where they played "Computer in Love" and the girl in pasties started making out with a computer-head, for a second, I thought "NO... this is too cheesy." But the degree to which they commit to it actually makes the cheesy parts GREAT.

*** bONapARTe On tHe RoAd ***

read this before: if you book us you DON'T really get 21 people and 12 disturbed animals and a real elephant because you wouldn't be ready for that, we'd need a house, a chef de cuisine, a gardener, a horse whisperer, a doctor and a pool - in short an entire hotel ***** - and also a huge old rokoko theater to perform in. since you don't have all of that... what you DO get is: a show with plus/minus 9 people from the collective risking their private and public lifes for you, dressed as animals or wurst and a loud concert somewhere im grenzbereich and mucho fun fun fun! (btw. a hot pool would be cool nevertheless).

We need to figure out how to get these guys booked in the US :( :(

No tears! You're so much cooler now that you're into a band that not many people are keen to, that no one in the states will be seeing locally... or you could go cry, realizing none of that helps the situation at all ='( On the other hand... it's a good excuse to dance like you can, when you know you can't =) I can't dance made my day

I know he does occasional DJ sets, those aren't terribly interesting to me though. These will be with the full band!

Saw them last night at the Soda Bar and now my next two nights are planned for, I'm gonna party with the Bonaparte in LA two more nights! This show is fucking bizarre circus, you rarely see energy like this throughout an entire set, at the very least anyone in LA should see their free show tonight!

GeezrRckr
03-20-2012, 06:47 PM
I was going to say that you might be able to get cheap tix out front, but it just sold out today. Damn, they sold out the Fillmore and Slim's. That's great.

frizzlefry
03-21-2012, 10:32 AM
frizzle, did you notice if they had merch at the LA show?

Due to physical exhaustion I had to skip The Satellite show, they didn't have any merch last night at the Dim Mak unfortunately, I bought their album in SD but I wanted to see if they had any singles. Last night's show was amazing again despite the smoldering rays of judgment coming from behind by LA hipsters.

GeezrRckr

Promoter responded to my email. Bonaparte will get on "sometime after 11." But, there are drink specials up till 10:30p. I'm going to tell my group to shoot for 10ish. Chia, get with me offline on your timing as I have a friend who wants your +1, if still avail. Cheers.

frizzlefry
03-21-2012, 12:40 PM
What's up with this band finding awesome places with drink specials? Dim Mak had an open Vodka bar until 10 last night, it was awesome!
