All of the above plus Mighty Underdogs. Also Shaggy 2 Dope solo.
Anyone that was at Rock the Bells would be cool. I'm not the biggest fan of Immortal Technique but seeing him at Coachella would be interesting, has he played?
Way overdue: Pharcyde, Rakim, Nas.
I think Lauryn Hill will be there, way too obvious. Closing Outdoor Theater.
Just joking about Shaggy 2 Dope, although it would be dope 2 have Shaggy.

The hip hop/rap lineup last year was TERRIBLE. De la soul and jay z were the only legit performers that were at the polo grounds. In order of preference for next year:
Beastie Boys
A Tribe Called Quest
Wu Tang Clan (or any Ghostface, Gza, Rza, raekwon, method man solo performance)
Eric B and Rakim
MF Doom/Madvillian
Outkast (but not a solo act between the 2 members)
Dr. Dre
5th Ward Boyz
Blac Monks
Pete Rock and CL Smooth
Foreign Exchange
Too Short
Nas
Andre Nickatina
Brotha Lynch Hung (or anyone from his crew: mr. Doctor, x raided, Loki, etc.)
Jurassic 5
Hieroglyphics (or del, opio, souls of mischief, etc.)
Zion I
Abstract Rude
Living Legends
Crown City Rockers
Immorital Technique
Atmosphere
PLEASE NO Eminem, Roots, or Kanye!!!!

All I want is Handsome Boy Modeling School and everything will be cool. Think of the possibilty of guests: Del, Mike Patton, De La Soul, RZA, Cedric from the Mars Volta, Miho Hatori... the list goes on and on. This would also be the only time that I would ever want Jack Johnson to be within 100 miles of Coachella because I do like the mix of Breakdown they did for White People.

because he can't. when was the last time he performed? snoop would headline before dre.
jonesjupiter
09-20-2010, 07:36 AM
Exactly, when was the last time he performed? Snoops not a headliner...but Dre + Snoop + plus a whole crew of California locals and then you've got a show.

No talk of Sir Lucsious Leftfoot AKA Big Boi doin a solo set at the polo? I mean I'm like everyone else where I'd love to see Andre 3000 and Big Boi re-unite as a headlining act next year, but I don't think that's realistic at this point.

I'm not the biggest Kanye or Eminem fan but I would support either of them headlining. No way I wouldn't have fun at those shows.
I can't believe Em plays "Kill You" still, so fucking great. I'd pay regular show price just to see him pull out Just Dont' Give a Fuck or something.

You guys don't have any clue how this works.
Snoop is always everywhere. There is no demand for him. Of course he's much more famous than Dre ... for stuff that has nothing to do with music. Dre is a legend that hasn't toured in a LONG time.

Dre by himself wouldn't be able to headline, but he would never headline a festival without guests. He has to have guests considering practically all his work has collaborators through out. If he was by himself he would end up not being able to perform lots of songs and only fractions of others. Dr Dre w/guests would headline.
This doesn't really matter though, I dont think Dre will ever come to Coachella.
And I reaaalllly want to see ATCQ there next year.

thom cobain
09-28-2010, 08:12 AM
whatever. i only bring up snoop because dre would need him to perform, along with others. at least snoop could do his own show. he headlined over wu and tribe for rock the bells. yes he had guests, as do a lot of hip hop acts. but no guest would be more essential than snoop to dre. and if snoop is there, his name is on the poster. i'd be surprised to see either one of them past the third tier unless their names were together.
and to say snoop's popularity has nothing to do with his music is just dumb.
