i've meet him a few times and i'd guess he's said 10 words total to me over those few meetings, despite me asking him questions i thought he'd answer. like questions about his wine...

definitely do it over the phone. call 2 minutes before they go on sale. any time i have done this, it's been something to the effect of "Just a minute, they haven't gone on sale yet." and then they snatch them up.

i also think they divide it up so a portion of tickets are reserved for phone sales.

ok...so it wasn't 300-400...but for Puscifer shows, the wine tasting was $125 and to include the meet and greet as well, it was $200.

a couple reviews regarding the meet and greet:

#1 - I did the wine tasting. $125 tix was cheaper than the meet and greet tix and we got a few generous glasses of wine and from the sounds of it, just as much face time with MJK as the meet and greeters.

#2 - The meet and greet was a little disappointing. $200 for a two second glimpse...

so it isn't necessarily in order...

Wheres the beef?
09-20-2010, 03:59 PM
Thank god they staggered the on sales for LA/PHX/Vegas. I'll be trying for both LA and Vegas. I was on the fence about Vegas pending what I got for LA but if Thirteenth Step is really starting at 5:30 in Hollywood I doubt I can make that. :nono What the fuck is up with that anyways? 5:30?!?!?!?! Fuck. My. Life. Sunday in Vegas isn't much better.

In regards to the "meet n greets". I mean come on. The guy who has snubbed you over and over and over again and he's going to do it again to your face? And you're shocked? :nono. I'll go to every Tool/APC show within a 200 mile radius. I'll buy all your albums and talk about you endlessly. But I think I draw the line there. I would so rather meet the rest of the band than Maynard.

Edit: :nono

Edit: 13th Step @ The Marquee actually seems more plausible than 13th step @ Avalon or in Vegas. I must ponder now.

Haha they are trying to trick ppl into getting tickets for the eMOTIVe night by putting it in the middle. Oh well I kinda like having the break inbetween Mer and 13th. If I am able to get tickets I didn't want to have to go back to back nights seeing as I have a project due that week.

Why must there always be so much ambiguity with any show Maynard is involved with? Things like: when do tickets go on sale, how much are they, when is the show, what time does it start, are simple fucking things. And, "What kind of music are you going to play?"

sin213

if its the same for all venues, i'd expect about 10% of the tix to be 3 day passes. the marquee site specifically states there are only 100 3 day passes and the venue is a 1000-1500 capacity venue depending on how much they pack people in.

Do you mean certain songs, or as a whole, the album is better when played live?
I could see The Outsider being incredible live, as with The Noose.

However, I'd feel terrible for missing Brena live... this will be, as said before, one stressful Friday.
With the Seattle show, everyone from Vancouver, Seattle, Portland and god knows where else will be trying to compete for the 1500 tix for sale (probably the same scenario for LA and LV).

Is there a way to be on the net (e.g. wireless with a laptop) if you're in the area, and realize that the box office is NOT open? That would be really lame if we assumed the box office is open, but then we realize it's not, and the time is 9:55am -- no internet access...

If you Phoenicians are worried about the Marquee's Lucky Man website, just remember that they handled the Nine Inch Nails Marquee show back in 2005. I didn't have much of an issue with the website for that. Despite the artist inflation the boards are giving APC right now, there would have been a lot more interest in NIN than these shows. Those shows were more than 5 years ago, so I would think the site would probably be able to handle the ticket sales. Unless the site has somehow gotten worse since then. If that's the case, good luck!

And APC had the same six-year hiatus from releasing new material. If what you say is true regarding the resurgence of NIN compared to that of APC, then it may not be as difficult as we initially thought to retrieve a 3-day pass. I was planning on going for only one date to be safe, but now it seems that a 3-day pass is not completely out of reach.

Yours is a matter of personal opinion (and respected at that) but the fact of the matter is, Meshuggah has built their rep in the underground metal circuit by upstaging other acts (Tool doesn't really count because they weren't allowed optimal volume levels - Adam Jones' guitar alone was practically louder than Meshuggah) with sheer, pummeling technicality.

Case in point: Tomas Haake.

I don't know... maybe it is my opinion, but I think NIN was a much bigger band back in 2005 than APC was at any point during their existence. I just can't see APC headlining arenas. NIN went right back into arenas after the small club tour (which included the Marquee). These will be tough tickets to get, no doubt (especially the limited VIP), but I don't think it will be impossible. And the website should be a-ok.

this will not work. i'm 100% sure. your "connection" to ticketbastard is per IP address. each computer on a network only gets one address. so the only way two browsers would work is if on two diff computers.

but you are still logged into the same user account at the same time...so dunno if that would be a problem. probably not. but i find it to be quicker to be able just click click click on one than have to switch over to another keyboard/mouse/monitor to do an additional window. personal preference though.

So uh, it worked for me a month ago with Interpol tickets. And it worked again for me a second ago. I pulled two different sets of tickets at the same time. You guys are crazy. I've never been able to work multiple browsers/computers. I agree with sin, just finish one transaction and work the next. I think people are getting confused with securing tickets while not logged in and it gives you that 9 minutes window then going to another window and getting tickets with the sign in that someone said works. At any rate, trying to game the system is risky and I don't want to waste my one shot at tickets so I play by the rules. :thu

They do log your IP when you are doing the transaction and your home network has one single IP that it uses when it talks to the internet. Each computer on the home network will have its own specific IP on the intranet though.

Basically, I have both browsers up and will be checking for the tickets to go on sale simultaneously. Whatever one shows up first, I start that one. After the info is put in and it starts to load, I move to the next browser and enter the info in.

If you land tickets on both, then you have a built in amount of time to work with since TM holds the tickets for you. I finish off the first transaction and then log in to the other browser when prompted and finish that one off.

Two should still work, especially if you have... different browsers (too much info?). IE is not the only browser out there.

Actually, let me give you some even better advice- just believe you are going to get tickets to what you want. All bs aside, I am normally very successful in on-sales, but even when I'm not I don't get down about it. I know I am going to be there one way or another. I'd say the venue was terrible if I wasn't 10 ft from the stage the entire time. Arguably the most unique Tool experience for me. Planes flying in for landing directly over the stage, cars stopping to watch on nearby streets, Starbucks billboards, scalped e-tickets, my, oh my. Some guy definitely had his lady friend bent over the balcony rail at one point. (probably Mr. Fuzz)

Opiate > Sober was the most intense back to back song selection I witnessed in the 10K era. They even extended the outro of opiate where it was just Justin and Danny and those seamlessly blended it right into Sober and the crowd went into a frenzy.

EDIT: Two different browsers (Firefox, IE) actually works! I was trying this with tickets for Primus just now, and no problems at all when being processed at the same time.

It would be nice if the 3 day pass prices were announced... dont wanna find out at 10am, then its too expensive and by the time I get to the 1st night page its all sold out....

Come on. What's "too expensive" even mean? If it's 3 nights x47.20 single night tickets+all fees= $141.60, then so what? It's worth that at least. And it will almost certainly be less so bonus.

there does not appear to be a 3-day pass option for the Fillmore shows. strategize accordingly.

No I have not. This fucking idiot is telling me that the APC mini concert ticket request link is on the 1iota site. Its not, just William Shatner is for now. Yes, you can get in that way, but you wonder how many freaks are doing that and youre going to get screwed over if you get there late.

And I was right.

Guess what, YOURE SHIT OUT OF LUCK. ''requested'' means you are waiting for tickets to become available. Thanks for playing.

im on a plane at 9:45 shoot me in the face. no way i get tickets to this. anyone gets an extra to the seattle shows id absolutely pay you back/hook you up w/ tickets to something cool in the future or get you into an end session or something. trying for a 3 day pass or bare minimum mer de noms

Phx Marquee Theatre Meet & Greet + wine tasting = $225.00

Details
MEET AND GREET Package includes:
1 single ticket with advance entry to the venue prior to doors opening to the general public.
Meet and Greet with A PERFECT CIRCLE.
Limited Edition APC 2010 Tour Lithograph, signed APC.
Limited Edition APC 2010 Tour messenger bag (available only to Meet & Greet patrons)
OPEN TO PATRONS OF ALL AGES

a little pricey considering you only get a ticket to one night. if it came with a 3day pass, i'd probably go with this.

also, i find it interesting that only the messenger bag specificly says "available only to Meet & Greet patrons".....signed APC Lithographs on sale @ merch? they've been doing that with tool, so i could see it with APC too...

sonnyboy11
09-24-2010, 08:04 AM
^safe to assume then that if you want the 3 day pass this Meet and Greet package won't be an option then? (unless you want an extra ticket for one of the shows)

sin213
09-24-2010, 08:23 AM
yeah, most likely. doesn't seem to be an option to swap for a 3day pass. only singles come with the meet & greet package.

oh shit....lookin at site. they just added another option for the "wine tasting". so i guess the meet and greet package does NOT include the wine tasting. the wine tasting package is the same as meet and greet + wine tasting for $275.

no options yet that come with a 3 day pass, but it looks as though they are currently updating options.

Hey, I'll be coming from Vancouver to go to this show - trying for Mer de Noms since the 3-day pass seems like too much of a risk for the demand and small capacity of the venue.
Trying for 2 tickets, and if my friend -- who is chronically/intermittently ill -- cannot make it, I'll hook you up.
