The top-grossing show this year was Coachella. The California festival drew 225,000 fans who paid more than $21.7 million for tickets.

Discuss.

Open to interpretation, but 225,000 fans implies 225,000 different people, when in fact its the same 75,000 per day give or take.

I would be more interested to know the approximate profit. Goldenvoice didn't net $21.7 million, but I'm sure they made a pretty penny.

Guesstimates anyone?

75,000 multiplied by $300 is 22 million and change. You are forgetting they are not even counting merch sales, camping revenue, food sold......

I'm so indie, I was into $9 chicken fingers back when they were $8.

They probably paid artists and staff about 20 mil. That's still a cool profit.

I will go with what you posted because I tried to find the Roo's gross but could only find this:

Bonnaroo organizers Superfly Productions and A.C. Entertainment didn't report 2009 festival figures to Billboard Boxscore this year, but Billboard estimates 80,000 people attended, and between $17-$18 million in gross revenue, making it the top-grossing festival in North America as it has been since its inception.
