Crazy people don't know they're crazy, dingus.

You're taking a very extreme definition of crazy. Am I completely psychotic? No. I understand what reality is, what is happening around me, I don't think satellites are controlling my brain, no. But if you don't think that someone who, for example, mutilates themselves habitually doesn't have at least a fucking moment where they realize that they're not right in the head... well, again not to be rude, but you don't know what you're talking about. I'd appreciate it if you didn't try and tell me what I am and am not, seeing as you don't know me. No hard feelings meant, but seriously--you're not an authority on this matter.

Get over yourself. If you spent less time analyzing your own issues, then coming on here to talk about it, waiting for people to respond so that you can call them wrong and have an excuse to talk more about yourself, you could get a hobby or something else that might give you genuine joy. If you're seriously cutting yourself and doing destructive things, you need to get real help and not brandish these things about on a message board. You're smart enough to know that. And you're right - I'm not an authority on this matter. Stop telling me this shit and start telling someone who is so that they might be able to give you a hand, for fuck's sake. An offhand comment I make to make you feel better shouldn't be met with an attack. Saying, "I'm crazy," and when someone says, "nah, you're not crazy," doesn't give you the right to do that. It's like you're thrilled that someone responded so that you can bitch them out for no reason. This is why I typically avoid interacting with you on here, even when you're acting nice.

And Justin's Harry Potter avatars win. Did you make those? Those rule my face off.

My reaction is that you're not funny. You never have been. And like a lot of people who have no wit, or insight, or intelligence, or anything helpful/significant/entertaining to say you go around posting singles sentences of no consequences or going "LOL" after a quote, or in this instance posting a youtube video equally as much a waste of time as anything you say, except to make that video it actually required some kind of artistic knowhow.

Jenniehoo

That youtube actually completely confused me. I get that it's all hardee har - incorrect translations blow your mind and make you molest children - but what I don't get is how any other translation could have been remotely accurate. It's like: fucking dude. Dude dying. Dude's wife has baby. Dude's wife takes baby to dude. Dude sheds tear. Earlier dude speaks emotionally in a video.

Anyway - the insinuation of possible modern genius from simply creating a translation pisses me off. There were few roads the original could go down - make fun all you want, but the original had to have been similar - unless it was some video mishmash Girl Talk equivalent in which case it took too much time to make something look stupid when there are things organically occuring in media culture everyday that do that on their own and are a lot easier to take shots at.

Pshaw. Is all I'm saying.

Well you know I would have been the resident asshole and be as cold hearted as possible while adding nothing of value to anything, ever, by simply attempting to destroy everyone around me with lame insults and self delusioned ideas of dark humor and/or creativeness but it seems you have that niche pretty much wrapped up.

Why don't you go post about the many topics you seem to frequent such as killing yourself/taking prescription drugs for your alleged mental disorders/rape/or barely holding together for a job interview to get a fucking job. Actually the truth is not that nobody likes me, people tend to like me quite a bit, believe it or not. I just don't like them. Whatever you say, Freud. Just make sure you don't lose that holier-than-thou attitude when you continue on about "the human condition". Oh, and the internet message board of a music festival is definitely the ideal place for "posting about real life" while avoiding reflecting on anything of any substance. And by substance you must mean reflecting on the drugs you will soon be consuming to numb the pain inside you.

Is it the ideal place? Does it have to be the ideal place? I write. It's what I do. A lot of what I write is about my life. I do it in many different venues, this is one of them. The feedback is useful, even though most of it consists of the kind of silly shit in your quote. And what in the world is insubstantial about pain, or mental problems, or coping mechanisms?

Complain all you want that you hate the things I say--most of you do, this has become de rigeur. You don't have to read them, and you have every right to hate it and to voice it. But it's hard to say that I come on here to say nothing of substance, whether you personally care for the substance or not.

Between the time I left for work and the time I arrived home today, someone slaughtered the entire inventory of Old McDonald's farm, threw out all my food, and crammed it in the fridge. I've yet to hear the details, but if you measure in sandwiches, I'd say there's at least enough for two hundred. Three, if you add some tomato. If you measure in lumberjacks, you have enough to feed at least forty of them big, hefty pieces of meat. If you measure in Hannahs, you have enough to seriously irritate at least one.

A NINE-year-old American boy who was suspicious of a "Rice Krispie" sound in his ear, was found to have a couple of spiders living in there.

What began as a faint popping turned into ear ache for Jesse Courtney from Albany in the state of Oregon.

Jesse's mother, Diane Courtney, said her son insisted he kept hearing a faint popping in his ear - "like Rice Krispies''.

"They were walking on my eardrums,'' Jesse said, according to the Associated Press.

Dr David Irvine said it looked like the boy had something in his ear when he examined him.

When he irrigated the ear, the first spider came out, dead. The other spider took a second dousing before it emerged, still alive. Both were about the size of a pencil eraser.

Jesse has kept the spiders as a souvenir.

You: late 20's, early 30's woman driving of the ramp on I-25 North, around 7 AM, Monday, 9.24.07, in a silver Toyota SUV. You were obviously a VIP headed to a critical meeting with similarly important people. I loved the way you leaned on your horn every time some peasant driver got in your way, swerved recklessly through traffic, and ignored social convention (who's got time for those?!) by refusing to use your turn signals. You sexy beast, rulebreakers are so hot! You not only honked at me, you favored me with "the bird", so I know you think I'm especially equipped to serve your majesty.

Me: smitten 36 y.o. peasant driver, not nearly as important as you, but aware of my place in the world relative to your greatness. I thoughtlessly dared to merge into an open lane coming off the ramp at a mere 10 miles over the speed limit, when you were coming up from behind. Who cares if it was completely safe for me to do so, I should have known that *you* needed that lane, even though there were two others to choose from, and driven off the ramp into a tree. Maybe I should do that now, as punishment for daring to briefly inconvenience you.

I know we're meant to be together--otherwise I wouldn't have seen you at the next 3 stoplights. Anyway, if you read this, I hope you choke to death on a pretzel you fucking bitch.

Damnit! What was the first eps. about?

There've been two episodes so far. I've caught probably less than half. We didn't even turn the TV on until after Pearl Harbor which pisses me off because I wanted to catch the lead up to war. But first episode that we saw went over how ill prepared our military was for the war when it started (crazy idea to think of now) and some horrible stories of suffering endured by American and Philipino soldiers and civilians when the Japanese invaded after Pearl Harbor. Scores upon scores of people died, the Japanese treated everyone like crap because in their minds it was an act of cowardice to surrender to them and not fight to the death.

Anyway, they also spent time covering the homefront and what made people enlist and stuff...some good interviews there.

Last night they covered the insane level of war machine manufacturing in the US that went on. People making one B52 every 63 minutes...crazy insane levels of production and a hell of a lot of rationing. Everyone was so behind it, it was nuts.

They also had stories of the allies inability to stop the luftwaffes and the German aerial forces and war manufacturing. Ended up missing most targets and then just went and carpet bombed Hamburg in the middle of the day hoping to knock out some key sites - killed like 40k civilians.

Later, they talked about the attack from north Africa into Sicily and the attempt to take over Rome/Italy. Amazing amount of death and destruction and the soldiers marched through forbidding terrain, upwards of 3k allied soldiers killed in a just a few days.

Today they're going to cover D Day and the battles in the Pacific with Japan, I think.

The whole thing just makes me laugh when you hear leaders comparing third world countries to WWII era dictators.

I cannot believe I have missed something as compelling as this. My old neighbor that lived across the street from me was a WWII tank driver. He had the greatest stories ever. We were lighting off mortars (fireworks) one night and instead of coming over and screaming at us to stop, he asked us to light off a few more, then he went into detail about his WWII stories. We visited him everyday for probably a month listing to his stories and just to shoot the shit. Then one day he had a stroke and died. His funeral service was pretty cool because all the old vets that were still alive from his unit showed up to pay their respects and we got to talk with them and hear their accounts.

I also got to meet Chuck Yeager because my Uncle and him were in the same 357th Fighter Group, 363rd Fighter Squadron. They flew p-51 mustangs.

It's impossible to know. There hasn't been anything like the Nazis or the Japanese imperial army. Oh, except the great menace of the USSR.

The thing is, though, that gets me is that it wasn't just the US that was united....it was every country involved - including the Germans and the Japanese. We can feel good about the cause, so there's nothing but pride about the sense of unity here, but what about the after-effects of countries as unified as Japan and Germany? Those people were as true believers as we were.

And I find it so interesting now how different both Japan and Germany are. I can't even imagine what it was like being an east German - going from fascism to communism to a republic in one lifetime.

I interviewed several WW2 vets back when I was a reporter in Iowa. We did a series on their experiences. The ones who had seen real combat were so obviously still haunted by what they'd gone through that I started to realize how horrific the war was on humanity. Part of the problem in the US is how romanticized it was because it catapaulted us to empire status, but it really decimated Europe and really held a wicked face up to people about our meaning and purpose of life. I'm going off here a bit. But it was just amazing to listen to the stories, they were regaled as heroes when they came home but there was so much horror that they'd seen that I don't think the felt the same way. One guy I remember was in the Battle of the Bulge and he was one of maybe 5% or so of his group that weren't killed and you could just hear the pain in his voice from that experience.

That was the one thing I noticed about my neighbor. He had frightening stories of death or hiding out in a farm house after his tank broke down in enemy territory, you could hear the pain in his voice and see the pain in his eyes as he remembered, but not once did he bitch or complain about it. It was there but it never came up. My dad was in Korea and he tells stories and bitches about it every so often. (which is totally understandable) But I can see where the romanticized portion of WWII can be brought about.

The single-winged device would pack a tiny two-stage rocket thruster along with telemetry, communications, navigation, imaging sensors and a power source. It is designed to carry interchangeable payload modules -- the size of an aspirin tablet. It could be used for chemical and biological detection or finding a "needle in a haystack." Released in organized swarms to fly low over a disaster area, the NAV sensors could detect human body heat and signs of breathing.

Would you rather just be slack for all those years, come into work and have nothing left over from the day before, no pressure, no one to supervise, just essentially hang for all of that time just because you have to work (I know I do/did) and make about $400 less a month for the rest of your life when you retire ……..

or

Would you rather work hard, supervise many people, learn new job skills every year or less, have a lot of stress, always have multiple projects going and in the end retire with that $400-500 more a month more then slack worker ?????????

There are some property managers in TX, at their “upscale” condos, you cannot rent a place there if you have: more then 2 nose piercings, or more then 5 earrings, or any tattoo that shows except if it is on your arm and then it cannot be more the 40 % of the flesh tattooed ….. is that their right to demand that … I reluctantly agree they should have that right, is it stupid and wrong? How is that not discriminatory practices? They have the right to refuse to rent or agree to rent to whoever they want, but having that as a matter of policy... eh, doesn't feel right.

Ha.

I can still remember most of the odd mannerisms of my professors for undergrad. Which is partially why giving lectures as a TA is always so frightening. I think most students remember more about the mannerisms and grooming habits and such than they do about the actual content of lecture.

anyone have any tips on how i can be assured to get this guitar in my possession and not get outbid at the last moment.

chances are that it is a store selling guitars.
Guitar center sells alot of their used guitars via eBay.
It surprises me that there is no pic of the back of the guitar, which could mean nothing...or it could have some dings on the back. Who cares, though? I had no idea Dan Armstrong really made any colored finishes (clear/black/white) but nice find.
You also don't know about what the reserve is set to, so you don't really know what will happen once the auction is up....assuming the reserve is not met.

I generally stick to pedals on eBay and haven't had too bad of luck with those.

Mr.Nipples
09-28-2007, 07:49 PM
yeah ebay is really the only place to get those guitars as not alot of them were made, i pretty much call every guitar store worth visiting in the bay area weekly to see if one comes in but havent had any luck. I love the shit out of my dan armstrong but its heavy as hell and i alreay have shoulder problems and its much too sensitive for the way i play live(when i do). need something with the same feel that i wont be afraid to ding up. It amazed me when I realized how close Chicago is to the east coast, though. I always pictured it right in the middle of the country for some reason until I had to drive to LA from Jersey, and then I realized just how packed shit is on the eastern third of the country. Then there's so much nothing until you hit--what, like Denver I guess?--it's astounding.

I was walking back to my car along the major road that lines the front of the campus and saw several people standing at a corner holding up signs and singing and shit with every car honking at them as they turned in or exited out from the school. from afar i assumed it was another group of bush bashers doing their thing. As i got closer i noticed it was another mob of these anti-abortion folks who think its ay ok to sport huge posterboards of depleted fetuses put back together and then dressed in baby clothes while its lunchtime at one of the nations largest community colleges, at the main entrance/exit no less. As i got closer to the crosswalk, i decided i would just ignore them, i have no real respect for these people and i just end up making myself look like an asshole in the end. They started berating me and a few others who were waiting for the light, asking us if we "supported abortion" and if what we thought "Murder should be legalized" then drolled up a bunch of jesus bullshit to back it all up. I turned around and the first thing i saw was a woman wearing a sandwich board with the whole front covered in a picture of a pretty well developed decapitated babies head with its lower jaw missing, the last thing one would want to see after picking up a beef bowl from yoshinoyas which is just across the street. So i look down at the lady and what she is wearing and then looked her right in the face and pointed at her board and said the first thing that came to my mind...
" That Looks Delicious!"...sarcastically...
The lady then stands there for a minute and the cross walk goes green. After several seconds of what i hope was time spent thinking of a retort, she goes off, saying a bunch of christian gibberish about "God in the home" and pulled out one of those miniature orange bibles. By this time im already halfway across the street. As i hit the other end of the road, the lady screams all the way from the other side over the traffic in her most christian of tones...
" What is wrong with you!!! Are you FUCKING SICK or something!!!???"
