One of my first jobs was trying to sell Cutco knives. All I got out of it was learning about the full tang.

And speaking of Jews, they were out in full force today at work. Apparently there's a pretty significant Jewish presence in the town that I work in, so they were stocking up to pig the fuck out today, and generally in the rudest way possible. I almost wish I was working tomorrow because I know it'll be fucking dead all day.

There's something oddly relieving in thinking you should move out of an apartment you love and into a cheaper place so you don't have to worry as much about money only to find that in the year you've been there, everything else has become just as expensive. Not reassuring by any means, but relieving.

Hahaha. I get the filing cabinet thing. They are indispensable. I have two 2-drawer filing cabinets that I use as the base for my computer desk. My favorite office furniture of all time: an 11 drawer metal cabinet (I can't quite call it a flat file because it's taller and narrower so it couldn't be used for blueprints). The drawers are 2 in tall and I store all our office/art supplies and art/photo papers in there. I practically fell over myself when I found it in a used office furniture store for 100 bucks. LOVE IT.

I need a shredder. I sometimes sit at my desk tearing all that shit into little itty, bitty pieces. It is therapeutic, I think, although my husband thinks it's nuts. If I'm in a hurry I throw it in the fireplace and burn it.

And yeah, I forgot about Craigslist. If you're lucky, you can even find good stuff for free. I've seen ads for free pristine steelcase desks, drafting tables, light tables, etc. No place to put them in our little condo, alas.

Courtney
09-22-2010, 02:26 PM
Yeah, with the economy and a lot of smaller companies going out of business, this is an ideal time to troll Craigslist for office furniture and supplies.

I still have my hotmail account. It's where I send spam.

I also still have functional e-mail accounts from my high school, college, grad school, and UCLA and Yale because I taught at both briefly. Schools are apparently horrible at remembering to cut off access to their former students/employees.

I also have e-mail accounts at the two domains I have registered.

But I use gmail as my primary account.

Yes.

Greek police opened fire on the chopper as it flew off, but a woman returned fire with an AK-47 assault rifle. Now having hot Greek babes with automatic weapons come save your ass from prison isn't the sort of thing that happens to normal people every day, but that's just how things work out for you when you're a badass like Vassilis Paleokostas.

Paleokostas and his associates left the chopper and drove off on totally sweet motorcycles to an undisclosed location. They also popped some totally bitchin' wheelies while doing so.

Should I grab these kittens and take them to a shelter?? The mom kitten likes me (or my cat food), so shes not a problem either to grab (tho, i reckon she would have a problem if she sees me near her kittens).

So a few weeks ago, Pete walks in after working outside in 115* all day and announces that I need a vehicle with AC. Personally, I think he needs his head examined because it wasn't I sweating my ass off outdoors...I was indoors at a nice 76*...Why do I need a vehicle with AC, if I have no job to go to? Then he tells me he thinks one of those KIA Souls would be cool and makes sure I see the commercial on TV. "Well, you can deal with this, or you can deal with that..."

Now, I'm not really a small tiny-car kind of person, but I'm not the classic car with more horsepower and speeding tickets kind of girl anymore either. That makes my Ranger fine for me. But then this commercial came along... (Sorry, my you tube feature seems to be out of service.)
http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w18/1BROKENDOLL/HOME%20SWEET%20HOME/FAMILY%20and%20FRIENDS/251B35F1597C2A9195F321_Large.jpg
And because of a gang of hamsters rapping their sales pitch, I became a little more interested in this idea of Pete's and checked out reviews, etc online. The fact that you can upgrade to the elite sound system tugged at my interest, as did the 32mpgh ratings. I'm just not seeing a bunch out on the roads yet. The other similar types, yes, but I'm partal to the KIA because of why? A little gangster pack of hamsters that make me feel good. Guaranteed, if getting a free hamster were part of the deal they offered, this wouldn't be an issue. I'd be giving you a review...But, let's use common sense here, shall we? The only reviews I've found were the website, and KIA data provided for the stats, etc...I want second opinions, and I know this board is full of them...Anyone have or have a friend who's an owner of one of these KIA Souls? Read any auto reports? I know I could just go test drive one, but those test drives are around the block... There's a lot more going on than around the block shit and I want to know if this little wind up habitrail is worth giving up my toy truck in order to have a little cold air?

Or, if you can review one of the other makes that are similar in style, and convince me that hamsters really can't drive, I'll take those opinions also.

What does that have to do with anything? It's entirely situational.

Nevermind. Do you realize this is called the DEFAULT thread for a reason? Go back being sad because you can't go to as many concerts as you would like.

It's respectful to do your best in the native language first, even if it's nothing but "please excuse me, I don't speak _____ well."

I agree except with the French, even the ones in Montreal C. Geez even come close to saying the word wrong and they ignore you. I think everywhere else I have been, it's like you say.

I didn't use the word personality; Please go back to school, reread the post and then you can post and comment with a bit of clarity.

Ron, I'm disappointed. It's like you've taken classes from mis or pot to conjure up a not so witty retort.

That's because I am at work and you can't be witty at my work :). I am bummed anyway and don't feel up to a roust.

If you have lived there, then we can agree to disagree: Else, get back with me

My father is a French professor, so I think I can say I have quite a bit of experience with native French speakers. Answer this Ron, are all Americans annoyed by illegal immigration?

All true Americans, at least.

Bumped into, and completely failed to recognise, a guy I used to know fairly well in school and the army reserve. Only figured out who he was properly once he was gone.

Eventually I copped that the reason I'd drawn a blank was that he's grown his hair a little bit since I knew him before, and you can no longer see the massive car crash scar on the top of his head. This makes me uncomfortable, because he's a really nice dude, and I should have been able to recognise him by some other feature than his mildly disfiguring and temporarily fatal head injury. I resolve to be extra nice to some total arsehole tomorrow to set things right with the world.

I just noticed that MP's new avatar looks like a grown up version of her old one.

She was way ahead of the trend. MP went B&W before darkness was cool!
