Animal-cruelty charges dropped against Burlington County cop

During a bizarre hearing there yesterday, a Superior Court judge dismissed animal-cruelty charges against a Moorestown police officer accused of sticking his penis into the mouths of five calves in rural Southampton in 2006, claiming a grand jury couldn't infer whether the cows had been "tormented" or "puzzled" by the situation or even irritated that they'd been duped out of a meal.

Derren Brown is an illusionist and trickster rather than a proper, full-on hypnotist, but he's incredibly creative and entertaining in the stunts he pulls. Like David Blaine, but with more self-awareness of how absurd it all is.

He never claims to have superpowers or anything - he introduces himself as a fraud, and invites you to try and figure out how he's fooled you. But I'll be damned if I ever can.

His previous stunts have included Russian Roulette, a seance, and predicting the lottery numbers, and I love him. His book is one of the best I've ever read and made me laugh until I ached. He's like a real-world Doctor Who, only entertaining.

Every morning this family of Mockingbirds hangs out right outside the slider while she's right inside the glass. They torment and fuck with her, and she sits all crouched making these really bizarre sounds like she's gritting her teeth or some shit. Whenever I open the door she comes to me before taking the chance at chasing those birds. Mockingbirds can be real peckerheads, I guess. Wow, Susan Atkins died? I know she just made a special request recently to be released due to circumstances regarding her brain tumor and was denied. Maybe after all the parole hearings that were denied, she finally said, "Fuck it" and gave up? Vimeo is a video hosting site, like Youtube, but slightly higher quality, a million times slower and considerably more of a pain in the ass.

.flv is the flash file you get when you rip directly from Youtube or Vimeo. VLC/ Videolan is the player I used to use to convert it to a format I could play with a bit, but, as noted, it's started acting like a bitch for me lately, so I'm looking for a recommendation for an alternative.

I was nearly in a big car wreck yesterday. My wife and I were on the 5 freeway, on our way to LA, when I saw a Chevy swerving a little in the fast lane. I thought he might be on his phone or may have had a few drinks. We were behind him for a few miles then I pulled into the car pool lane to overtake. Just as I passed I looked in my rear view mirror and saw the chevy just miss the back of my car and smash into the concrete divider at about 70mph then slide all the way over to the hard shoulder. I don't know what the fuck was up with this guy. Is there anyway to find out about crash details?

Thank you! No other person on the board I'd rather take advice from than Taxy-vasion :thu

If you are responsible for the utilities then any water used for landscaping will fall on you but any repairs or if anything dies it is on the landlord to take care of. Unless they write something into the lease saying they cover all landscape costs. So just don't water them, let them die and then it is on him to remove. :)

I might be your neighbor soon. I looked at a condo yesterday a couple blocks behind the circle k, the kids liked it due to the comunity pool. Only downside... the next door neighbor is a cop. Not sure how I feel about that.

Question: When renting a house for a base fee + all the utilities, who is responsible for the yard work?

Basically, the house I'm renting has quite a few big trees and to water them properly cost me a good chunk o change.

That is a question I'd ask the person you'd be renting from, not a message board.

Holy jesus: (http://www.artlurker.com/2009/09/the-rape-tunnel-by-sheila-zareno/)

Please describe the project.

In the 4D Gallery main room, I’ve constructed a 22 ft tunnel out of plywood that leads into the project room. There is no way in or out of the project room except for this tunnel. As you travel through the tunnel, it gets smaller and smaller, making it so that you have to crawl and put yourself in a submissive position in order to reach the tunnel’s destination. At the end of the tunnel the subject will find me waiting in the project room and I’ll try to the best of my ability to overpower and rape the person who crawls through.

rskapcat
10-05-2009, 01:45 PM
"It would seem that what you are proposing to do will not technically constitute rape for the obvious reason that whoever enters into the tunnel is acting of their own free will, therefore making the act consensual. If you aren’t really raping anyone, doesn’t that undermine the credibility of the project?

First of all, I want to make it clear that I plan to make the experience as unpleasant as I possibly can to anyone who dares to crawl through the tunnel. I will try to the best of my ability to make them regret their decision.

Secondly, rape is not always a black and white issue. The definition is argued almost everyday in courtrooms around the country. The woman who gets too drunk one night and regrets having sex the next morning, was she raped or not? There is no easy answer. I hope some of that ambiguity will manifest itself in this project."

ended up talking to one of the chicks from the Von Bondies..
told her she reminded me of the singer of Berlin, & that her band was holding her back..
and her guitarist of her side project was probably was probably an asshole just like that other guy in Berlin..
she told me that no, he actually is pretty nice.. and since she writes the music they couldn't possibly be holding her back..
hahahah jeezus... i must have sounded retarded, but she hung around & was interested in my ideas..

this reminds me of what I did last night I don't think I am allowed back at First Avenue for awhile

I just witnessed billions of migrating Monarch butterflies fly through my neighborhood.

I was enjoying my coffee on my back porch when out of nowhere the sky was taken over. It was surreal. At one point they almost blocked out the sun they were so thick. Lasted about 30-45 minutes.

The year I was gestating was one of the biggest population of butterflies to migrate in years -2005. I remember laying in the backyard watching them fly over the house. I tried to count them, but it was impossible. It was so beautiful.

Unfortunately, I also remember running in to them on the highways that year too. :(

I've run into clouds of orangey small butterflies on the way to California before, but not monarchs. Sounds amazing.

There's a eucalyptus grove near my home where the monarchs go every year. I remember when I was a kid there were just clouds and clouds of them but it seems like each year there are fewer. There weren't many at all last year.

I used to do that at the playground while on the swingset. Each time I'd go forward, I'd scoop up a handful and put it in my mouth. The doctors claimed it could have been brought on by a mineral deficiency. I think I was just fucked up as a kid.

And the butterflies probably flew over thinking you were a giant cacoon laying there in the grass.

One of my cats has been in hunting mode this week and has brought in two dead birds. I also hate birds. So I told my son that he had to dispose of the carcass. He asked why so I told him as man of the house it is his duty to remove all dead animals/bugs and kill any bugs that find thier way in. So as he is carrying the dead bird out he says under his breath, "damnit, why do i have to have a penis". LOL

I say, don't tell him what his penis is for or you may end up with alot more than jyust little bugs crawling around your floors!

He is 15, I am pretty sure he knows what it is for. I know this because he stole my condoms I had stashed. Which I did not yell at him about all that much since I would like to avoid being a grandma for now... and ever. :)

When I went camping in the Santa Cruz Mountains years ago, we came across this stump of wood, I was think oh great some dead tree, our friend breaks the wood and a sea of red comes out, a huge lady bug nest (or whatever you call it). It was cool you could put your arm inside and have 1000's of them crawling up your arm...
