if anyone gets catty with me, i just kill them with kindness. nothing pisses off catty bitches more than being happy & nice to them. especially if you look good while you're doing it :)
You're right; I should do that. I lost my temper with her and started sputtering about how every job function I've been working on is supposed to be the highest priority according to different people, so I'm not sure what I need to work on first. Of course, she countered with "follow-ups are the most important thing you need to do on a daily basis.." blah blah blah. Whatever.

no we are salaried and my boss doesn't care if I take a little extra time now and then because my work is always done. It was never a problem out on site but now in the office the older women watch that shit. They all get here at 6 am and leave at 300 because they are in bed by 8pm. So when I come in at 830 and leave at 5 they only see that I get here at 830 or later. oh well, they can get glad in the same pants they got mad in.

HAHAHAHA. Yeah all the people with "seniority" here (i.e. people who have 30 years with the company) want the super early shifts. I thought they were going to explode when they changed our entire office hours from 5am-7pm summer/6am-8pm winter to 7am-6pm summer/8am-7pm winter. No more 5-1:30 and 6-2:30 shifts, bitchezzz!!

i notice that people who work THAT early don't always tend to be on time. cause there are days where i go in that early so i can leave early for whatever reason (like radiohead), and it always seems the people who should be there that early roll in 20-30 minutes late. sneaky, sneaky.

sort of old news but still viable .... x****

District Attorney Carol Chambers is urging consumers to be extra careful with e-mails claiming to be delivering information about the Olympics, the Democratic or Republican National Conventions, or any other major news event. These e-mails, often with titles that include the words “breaking news”, may be phishing scams designed to steal your personal information or they may contain malicious software that will harm your computer. One recent example of a scam e-mail appeared to be an MSNBC.com Breaking News Alert. Anytime there are major events such as the Olympics or the national political conventions, scammers will be trying to pass their bogus e-mails as legitimate news coming from real and well-recognized organizations or agencies. To keep yourself safe, the District Attorney recommends:
1. Do not open e-mails from unknown sources, regardless of the e-mail title.
2. In order to receive alerts or breaking news items from any source, you usually have to sign up for the service. If you did not sign up and receive an e-mail, treat it with care. Your safest course would be to not open the e-mail, but go to the “alleged” sender’s website to read the news. If the e-mail says it is from MSNBC.com, type in www.MSNBC.com on your web browser and read about it there. But you must type the address in yourself; do not click on a link in the e-mail. If you click on a link embedded in the e-mail and the sender is a scammer, you will regret it.

It is not like there is any work getting done, more then half the people already snuck out with the excuse of "errands" and visiting the jobsite which is bullshit since most jobsites shut down by 2 pm anyway. so, i was talking to a friend yesterday who attends coachella every year. she tells me last year they were partying in a friends rv backstage after the show and all of a sudden a few extra people show up. she figures it out a bit later that it's portishead! so they proceed to get drunk with them for a bit. after that the band needed a golf cart ride back to their tour bus. so her friend, the only sober person there, got to give them a ride back. well, she hit a random bump and tossed the whole group right out of the cart. their manager was freaking out, yelling something to the effect of "you guys aren't young anymore, you're going to get hurt", but they just proceeded to lay on the ground hysterically laughing. good times!

ISO 3632 deals exclusively with saffron. It establishes four empirical grades of colour intensity: IV (poorest), III, II, and I (finest quality). Saffron samples are then assigned to one of these grades by gauging the spice's crocin content, which is revealed by measurements of crocin-specific spectroscopic absorbance. Absorbance is defined as Aλ = − log(I / I0), with Aλ as absorbance (Beer-Lambert law). It is a measure of a given substance's transparency (I / I0, the ratio of light intensity passing through sample to that of the incident light) to a given wavelength of light.

Paging stinkbutt to the thread...

Palo Alto Chihuahua ready to compete for 'nation's fastest' title

Two-and-a-half seconds.

That's roughly how long it could take to crown the country's speediest Chihuahua today.

Could, because 3-year-old Chloe of Palo Alto has the goods to sprint down the 35-foot track at San Diego's PETCO Park one second quicker.

To get to the national championship -- slated to take place between innings at a San Diego Padres game -- Chloe outran her competition in the May San Francisco regional race with a record-shattering time of 1.6 seconds.

The next quickest pup in the pack of 15 that will compete in the PETCO Unleashed 4th annual National Chihuahua finals posted a comparatively glacial time of 2 seconds in April. The rest of the field falls between 2.2 and 3.2 seconds.

Chloe's "parents" are confident she'll be top dog.

"I think we're gonna get it," said Katrina Soledad during a practice session Wednesday afternoon at Bayfront Park in Menlo Park. "She runs faster in unfamiliar places."

That doesn't mean Katrina, 30, and husband Mel, 31, haven't prepared Chloe for her big moment. In the four months since the regional race, they've trained regularly at Stanford Shopping Center and Bayfront Park.

Occasionally, they'll mark out 35 feet for practice runs. Mel "releases" while Katrina "catches," just like in the races.

"As long as mom is at the other side she's going to run fast," Katrina said.

But Chloe is going head-to-head today with two past champions, New York City's Maddy and Bakersfield's Tiger, who laid down the 2-second time at the Los Angeles regional race.

Chloe's no novice, though. She competed in the 2007 San Francisco regional race, just days after the Soledads heard about the competition through a commercial.

The PETCO-sponsored Chihuahua races started in 2005 in four cities. This year, races took place in 15 cities across the country, drawing nearly 2,900 competitors.

While PETCO couches the annual competition as an opportunity to celebrate the human-animal bond, some real prizes are up for grabs. Sunday's winner will receive a $300 gift certificate and a year's supply of premium dog chow.

Win or lose, the Soledads hope to use the opportunity to promote animal adoption. They found Chloe, a Chihuahua-pug mix, in May 2006 at the Tri-City Animal Shelter in Fremont.

"We got lucky," said Mel, recalling how he and Katrina were first on the shelter's list to adopt Chloe, named after his wife's favorite Italian designer.

"It seems like it was meant to be," Katrina added.

The Soledads point to Chloe's past as one potential explanation for her speed. She whines plaintively when Katrina walks away during their training sessions and explodes out of Mel's arms when she hears "go!"

Mel jokes that it's "separation anxiety."

"She can feel that we love her, love her to death," Katrina said.

I received a package in the mail from a woman that I sort of have a crush on that i basically told (in a roundabout way) in an email that I didn't want to converse with her anymore. now I am having second thoughts.
It was a nice package with a CD she made me and some of her newest artwork and a relatively nice handwritten note.

My uncle(who lives in Germany) passed away very suddenly. Totally unexpected. My cousin is beside himself with grief. His mom(my aunt) died a few years back from Pancreatic cancer.

are you sure? i'm pretty sure most, if not all, carriers don't count voicemail calls as 'in calling' minutes. during peak times, that is.

perhaps your plan allows you to check vm for free. or if you don't know, you should check your vm now and then check your minutes again, and see if your peak minute count rises.

yeah i thought so, and i hate denny's and i hate soda...I guess that is what I get for having him make the plan. I am thinking i might get out of it, my girlfriend is coming up and we are going out so I might just see if I can reschedule for when I am in more of a denny's kinda mood. Does he do drugs? People have to be on drugs to be in a "Denny's Mood." Better yet, invite him to your drinking establishment first, then Denny's. Drunk at a Denny's is always a treat!

Rules of Drunk Dialing - Because everyone needs rules. And for the record I broke a few of these this weekend.

1. Only drunk dial when you are drunk. Everything else is false advertisement.

2.It is okay to call someone 27 times in one night. If you don't remember it, it didn't happen.

3.If you are going to drunk dial a family member, say something nice. Ex. "Mom I'm in McDonald's and they're playing our song. I love you"

4.Dirty talk while drunk dialing is always preferred. Who doesn't want to hear your best raspy, phone sex voice at 3 in the A.M. asking to bend them over something.

5.Voicemails are always better. This way your friend can let their friends have fun at your expense for days, even weeks to come.

6.Drunk texting is alright... If you are prepared to read what you wrote the next day when you are sober.

7.It is definitely a good idea to call all of your exes and remind them that you were the best lover they've ever had and everything they know, they learned from you. This way you can sleep well at night.

8.You can also call this same ex and let them know, that you know, that they still love you. Then explain to them that I would still love me too!

9.If you are a frequent dialer, never get mad if someone dials you. Be happy they thought of you in this special time.

10.It is always a good idea to sing on someone's answering machine or voicemail. Especially a show tune.

11.Drunk dialing should be fun and light hearted or dirty and sex crazed... Never angry.

12.Most likely you will never drunk dial your best friends. They are usually the ones taking your phone away and reminding you that "you have a problem".

13.If you deleted a number sober, it was probably for a good reason. Do not try to retrieve this number. Nothing good can come from it.

14.Always call someone you know. Finding random numbers in phone books is bad and usually leads to angry dialing.

15.If your cell phone dies, remember everything happens for a reason. Never borrow a friend's phone to do your dialing.

16. Drunk dialing to foreign country is usually to costly to be a good idea. But if you feel like if you don't call this person you'll just die, brake rule 15 and use a friend's phone.

17.Drunk dialing may lead to drunk muffin stuffing.... Be prepared.

18.When dialing remember that "hanging out" at 3 in the A.M. usually doesn't involve cards it's probably going to be more like cheap lube and handcuffs. So be prepared when you really do want to play X-box when your drunk..... "you want me to do what with your box? Play with it?"

19.Don't drunk dial in the pool, tub, or rainstorm. It only ends up with you blow drying your phone when you're far to drunk to be using electronics and you wont be able to drunk dial anymore that night.

20.Never, I repeat, never drunk dial your boss, preacher-grandpa, or friend's parents. If you are that hard up to call someone, there is an 800 number on Budweiser boxes. The person on the other line always sounds cute, plus I think they are used to drunk dialers

My inability to spell is the least of my problems. I appreciate when people point out my errors so I can try to commit the correct spelling to memory. Although when I was in accounting class in college the teacher use to be a grade school teacher. For some reason I could not spell received to save my life and she kept singing "I BEFORE E EXCEPT AFTER C" everytime I fucked it up. Still to this day I sing that shit in my head when typing/writing that word and I still occasionally fuck it up.

Man Arrested In Spice Rub, Sausage Attack
(http://www.10news.com/news/17431322/detail.html)

FRESNO, Calif. -- Fresno County authorities arrested a man they said broke into the home of two farmworkers, rubbed one with spices and whacked the other with a sausage before fleeing.

Fresno County sheriff's Lt. Ian Burrimond said 22-year-old Antonio Vasquez of Fresno was found hiding in a nearby field wearing only a T-shirt, boxer shorts and socks.

Burrimond said Vasquez was arrested after deputies found a wallet containing his ID at the ransacked house just east of Fresno.

The victims told deputies they awoke Saturday morning to the stranger applying spices to one of them and striking the other with an 8-inch sausage.

Burrimond said money allegedly stolen in the burglary was recovered. The sausage was tossed away by the fleeing suspect and eaten by a dog.

It's official, I will never understand men.

So I go out with geeky white boy, we met for 20 minutes over the weekend before work and then had dinner last night. We spoke on the phone several times a day in between. Last night after dinner we sat in the car and he proceeded to inform me that he wants to exclusively get to know me, wants me to meet his son, thinks I am the coolest chick he has ever met, blah blah blah, sees this as being the start of something long term blah blah. I then of course get a bit freaked out because I am not the fast and furious kind of girl. I like to take things slow and am not ready to meet anyones kid or any thing like that, especially after only knowing a dude a week.

So today I spend the day thinking how the hell I am going to have the slow the fuck down conversation. Should I email him, talk to him, what do I do... Then I get an email from him which says "I have been thinking about it and do not see us as being more then just friends, I tried to force myself to have feelings that were just not there, I am sorry". To which I responded "wow, ok".

So now I am sitting here thinking, ok what the fuck? At least with bad boys you know where you stand. Fuck this shit I am switching to girls.

locachica73
09-11-2008, 02:44 PM
oh no need to discuss it now, he apparently faked the emotion lol.

The kid thing, I would not have a problem dating a guy with a kid and if down the road things got serious I would of course want to meet the kid(s). But I have this thing about children, they need stability. I have been single for over 5 years now and my children have met 3 of the men I have dated in those 5 years. I do not introduce my kids to men unless I think they will be around for quite awhile. He was wanting me to meet his kid on the second date. That freaked me out.

Although I do need to think alot about that because I only have 4 years left before my kids are 18, I feel like I am almost on parole for good behavior and not sure I want to add more time to my sentence. It would be one thing if a man had kids that he shared custody with, but if he has full custody that might change my mind. I look forward to turning 40 and being able to travel when I want and not worry about all the things that goes with being a mother.

Bud Luster

As the story goes, "Georgie Porgie" was gonna be on Low End Theory, but the label made them scrap it, because it was too homophobic. (Wait until you hear this shit. It could very well be the most homophobic rap song ever. And it's by motherfucking Tribe!) So then they went and rerecorded it as "Show Business."

Which of course begs the question: Did Tribe do "Show Business" because they were pissed off at their record label, because they wouldn't let them release "Georgie Porgie?" Probably, right? Even though they don't really mention anything in that song about the libel stifling their free speech.
Apparently Grand Puba didn't want to re-do the song with a new topic which is why he's not on "Show Business".

Yeah that was my very first brand new car, was in the shop for 90 days before it got its first oil change. My second brand new car got side swiped before it's first oil change. My third brand new car is the one I am still driving and I got the oil changed right away after buying it and it has never been in a wreck. *knock on wood*.

I dropped a water bottle on the floor and rear ended the car in front of me. You're right smoking and driving do not mix. :)

how can I get my ex-landlord to give me my security deposit back? I moved out a month ago. when I asked him about it 2 weeks ago he said he had 30 days to get it to me. it's now been 32 and I want to call and yell at him but I'm not very good at being intimidating or demanding. I'm afraid he's just gonna say "well it's in the mail" and i'll be like "oh, okay........" and I'll be stuck checking my mailbox 3 times a day for another week. I need this money by the 1st so I can pay my rent this month. waaaahhhhh.

amyzzz
09-26-2008, 10:15 AM
Is there an authority or agency you can threaten him with if he doesn't pay?

samiksha
09-26-2008, 10:18 AM
i dunno, the better business bureau? is that even a threat?

locachica73
09-26-2008, 10:21 AM
Well because he went over the 30 days he has to give you the full deposit back, they have 30 days to let you know if they are keeping any of the deposit. If it is a corporation that you rent from then you can threaten with the BBB but if not I am not sure what you could threaten with other then telling him you are going to charge him interest per day that he is late.
