Awesome passive aggressive conversation I heard in Starbucks this morning:

Guy In Front Of Me: Yeaahhhh.... ummm... I'd like a small cafe latte, and ummm... ::looking at the food display:: --
Cashier: --you mean a tall cafe latte?
Guy: ::continues looking at the food display::
Cashier: Tall is small.
Guy: ::ignores him and continues looking at the food display::
Guy: Right, I'll have a small cafe latte and a blueberry muffin.
Cashier: Ok, tall cafe latte and a blueberry muffin. You got it.

Technically, no. There can be banana added to the mix if taste requires it and also, some places use banana slices as garnish along with the wild berries.

Some of the nicer grocery stores carry them too. Even mini tarts, for an individual serving. I tend to like the minis more because then I don't eat an entire large tart in one go.

Anyway, lime/lemon/berry/mixed fruit are the best ways to go. In my opinion.

No, a tart is not just a small pie. There are several key differences in the crust and the consistency of the filling.

A tart is a pastry dish, usually sweet, that is a type of pie with an open top that is not covered with pastry. The Tarte Tatin is a particular kind of "upside-down" tart, of apples, other fruit, or onions. Savoury varieties include german Zwiebelkuchen (Onion tart), or swiss cheese tart made from gruyere.

A tart is defined as a single-layered base of pastry (plain or puff) with a sweet or savory filling baked in either a shallow tart pan that has straight, fluted sides and a removable bottom or a metal tart ring placed on a baking sheet. The tart is removed from the tart pan or ring before serving. Broadly, the term 'tart' encompasses flans, quiches, and pies. Depending on the type of tart made they can be served as appetizers, entrees or desserts. Their size ranges from bite-size (hors d'oeuvre), individual-size (tartlet) to full-size (tart)

NationalGeographic.com To Webcast Concert With Bjork This Saturday (June 28)

The good people at National Geographic are going to webcast this Saturday's Nttra concert live on their website. here is the press release:

NAT GEO MUSIC TO WEBCAST BJRK AND SIGUR RS CONCERT
LIVE FROM ICELAND ON SATURDAY, JUNE 28

Fans can see concert only at worldmusic.nationalgeographic.com

NEW YORK (June 27, 2008)Nat Geo Music, the music division of National Geographic Entertainment, will Webcast an open-air Nttra concert live from Iceland on Saturday, June 28, 2008. Two of the world's most important and visionary musical entities, Bjrk and Sigur Rs, will headline the free concert.

The event will be available exclusively at worldmusic.nationalgeographic.com from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET (begins at 8 p.m. BST/London or 7 p.m. GMT/Reykjavik).

To be held in a large park near the centre of Reykjavik, all of the performances will be during daylight, with Iceland's capital city and dramatic rolling scenery providing a perfect backdrop to what is expected to be one of the biggest concerts the country has seen. The Nttra concert looks to raise awareness of the impact of the growing aluminum smelting activity on Iceland's natural landscape.

"One of Nat Geo Music's main goals is to offer artists and experts who care about global culture and the environment an outlet to create awareness for important issues. Spotlighting these amazing artists performing live in a spectacular backdrop allows our worldwide audience to enjoy great music and become aware of Iceland's environmental concerns and join the conversation," said David Beal, president of National Geographic Entertainment.

Commenting on the gig, Bjrk said: "Too often battles being fought for nature turn into something negative and into mudslinging. We will not go that way, we are not saying that this and that is forbidden, we are rather asking 'what about all these other possibilities?' The 21st century is not going to be another oil century but rather a century where we need to recycle, think green and design both power plants and our surroundings in harmony with nature."

Sigur Rs, who released its fifth album, "Me su eyrum vi spilum endalaust," this week, believes the issue of aluminum smelting in Iceland is one that can no longer be ignored. "We are not a political band and don't think musicians should set themselves as spokespeople on anything at all, but sometimes you see things going on in your own back yard and find that just as a human being you cannot stand by and do nothing. The changes that are going on in Iceland need to be the subject of debate and not snuck through the back door because no one lives in the wilderness and there is urban apathy or a general lack of awareness," said Sigur Rs vocalist Jn Thor Birgisson.

I can play music but i haven't unpacked the box that has my cd's in it and don't want to start digging right now, but I may have to soon because my neighbor has country music playing and its making me want to stab myself in the ears.

If you want some good country rock, put on The Byrd's Sweetheart of the Rodeo.

I am not into country rock either, well maybe some older stuff when shooting pool. And when I play poker there is a guy that plays that likes to torture me with country music, but he recently found that I play much better when he plays country music, its weird. But he plays fun country, like this song called It Takes A Whole Lotta Liquor to Like Her. That shit makes me laugh. The cube neighbor is playing some sappy ass slice your wrist type country. ugh

This is one of those albums I don't like all that much, but I own it because I feel like I should own it. I may not listen to it, but at least I can keep my Serious Music Fan cred intact by having it in my possession.

PCness fucking blows!!!!

I don't think the issue is political correctness; OneNewsNow.com is a right-wing media clearinghouse, and they probably decided that "homosexual" sounds scarier than "gay".
