Lately I have been noticing a lot of complaints about the ravers/etards etc. overcrowding coachella. Why so much hate? And I am not getting all plur over here, in fact I am far from raver, never really wanted to squeeze into that little scene.
But when it comes to seeing them at coachella...I have never once thought "omg not these d-bags again. gross. too many. overcrowded with them. annoying."
At least my personal experience with them is they are neat to look at, not an inconvenience at all, and just add to the sahara flavor of the weekend.

I don't think it was the ravers overcrowding coachella. it was the fratboys.

^This. Didn't see too many candy kids crowding into Florence and the Machine, but there were bros aplenty. Same with Beach House, Thom Yorke, etc...

I actually like the new raver kids for the most part.
They are enthusiastic and (in my experience at Coach and other festivals) very polite and friendly.
There were rude, pushy LA kids, but theres always gonna be those entitled assholes mixed in with whatev subculture you have.

I think killing a raver is a pretty good idea. I just don't blame them for the overcrowding.

Are the super big pants still chic for ravers? I haven't seen those monstrosities since I was 16.

If ravers didn't exist... We wouldn't have Tiësto. Think about it.

Probably wouldn't have Orbital or Plastikman either. I am sure the lack of a rave culture would have hurt most electronic music somehow.

I think a more prevalent issue was age, not raverdom. I saw a little kid writhing on the grass and foaming at the mouth outside of Sahara, probably overdosing on fun drugs that would've been fine for anyone else. Silly kids. I heard someone died this year, I don't really care to look up the info.
