I walk out of the les claypool set after having my mind blown...<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/EmmLsyw8msY&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EmmLsyw8msY&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> and i walk over to the dead weather. i listened to the cd a couple times through a couple of times and thought it wasnt anything special. But i was diggin' the live set alot.
A couple songs go on and sound great. and all of a sudden the horrible sound of tiesto came on. drowning out probably one of the best moments of the dead weather's set. They sped up the rest of the songs and looked and sounded angry. So big mess up on coachella's or goldenvoices part. But atleast the ovation that they recieved from the crowd show'd them respect. I mean come on should they have had a little more respect for jack white the man was going back and forth from the drums and guitar and sounding amazing.
Came from NY to see a certain bands(oh yeah and i drove so.) and even tho i wasn't digging the DW album i still wanted to see them. so big mess up on someones part. But it just made me want to see them in some sick club in the city somewhere.

oh yeah and tiesto sucks dick.

Bleed was only bad when Tiesto first came on because he came out blasting balls and Dead Weather was playing a very soft whispery part of set. After they picked it up a bit, couldn't even hear Tiesto. But I was about midway between the mixboard and stage, so if you were farther back, I can imagine more bleed. Yet another f'up on GV's part, because in years past, when the show wasn't oversold, nobody was farther back on the outdoor than maybe just past where the mixboard was this year...and even if they were, they were layin' on the grass.

yo i was all the way on the right side of the outside stage. near the palm tree line. and right next to a set of speakers and i was still able to hear tiesto.

Tiesto did a good job of raping Sia's set as well. It was wonderful, but every time she let up for one instant, Tiesto would pound his way in. She ended early also.

the dead weather were fucking great. did not notice tiesto raping them, but that was because i was up at the front. alison mosshart exudes energy. i was surprised that there weren't more people there.

I noticed a bit of bleed where I was but it wasn't too bad. But I will say these guys were one of the top highlights of the weekend for me! It's not even so much that the music was great but the sheer energy and showmanship of the band was something I rarely see anymore. To second what the op said, I would love to see these guys in a smaller club some time!

I really only listened to this band once or twice in the car on the way to Coachella and wasn't familiar with any of their songs but after they were done, I was a huge fan that can't stop listening to their tunes!

I went into this festival in love with Zooey Deschanel. I realized the error of my ways when I watched the Dead Weather and fell hard for Alison Mosshart. I wasn't close enough to the Kills last year to get a good look at her.

They're a good band too.

The Vegas show kicked all kinds of ass. I have to tell my story...

The show wasn't crowded at all but we were like 10 or 12 people deep in the middle of the pit. Then I was like “fuck this”...I needed to get closer because the sound just wasn't loud enough. So I make my way up to the front left of the stage and I am literally touchin’ the stage and right next to the speaker stacks. Anyways, they played a lot of new material that I wasn't familiar with but I was totally feeling it. I had my hands in the air and then I caught Alison's eye and I gave her the “get the fuck over here” wave with my fingers. Get this and I’m not lying…that bitch fuckin’ bee lines right across the front of the stage, bends down so she is right in my face and starts rockin’ out like crazy. She goes crazy for a few more seconds and then she is like "you ain't shit" and then she made her way back towards the middle of the stage. It was fucking amazing and it was all for me : )~

My other favorite part of the show was when Jackie boy came out and jammed “Will There Be Enough Water”. He broke the guitar string in like the first 30 seconds but continued to rip that song apart for like 10 more minutes. I think that it is one of the greatest songs ever. He is the baddest guitar player that I’ve ever seen play live, next to Ron Asheton.

I wish that they would’ve played “No Hassle Night” but overall the show was fantastic.

I wish I could tell you that you didn't miss much, but...

it was one of the best sets I've seen in my 7 years going to Coachella. I tried to tell people ahead of time...

I'm excited to finally get to see them live. Should be an awesome show. They will probably play a lot of stuff from their soon to be released second album.

They've been playing new stuff live for a while. Their new album is supposed to drop in April. I will put $333 on them playing lots of new shit that will blow everyone away. I hope the skeptics are there watching and they bitch slap themselves for ever doubting this band.
