Yeah, sub pop sound tracked a game last year for EA, and that one you saw the commercial for had an article about it in Pitchfork a few days ago
maybe a week ago.

the day i hear an arcade fire song in a commercial, that is the day the world ends. Music (the one sacred thing left in this world) will become no longer sacred.

they explained themselves on their website. i dont wanna go find the link now...but it was something about them believing that, if this was the only way that people in Africa or the world in general were gonna get help, that is by basically forcing people to give money and turning it into a fashion statement, then so be it. they made a big deal about telling people that they haven't sold out...i forgive em.

I hope Courtney Love dies a slow, painful AIDZ-related death.

Hey cake guy, Modest Mouse whored their songs to commercials and Kidz Bop.

It's okay if an artist sells out. Just as long as their music is still good and they don't start campaigning against illegal downloading.

I'm in the Bill Hicks camp when it comes to artists selling out. Only for the ones that REALLY need the money. Like when an artist is just getting started, or when Willie Nelson had the multi-million dollar tax bill. Anyone else that sells out is off the artistic roll-call forever.

Suckers of Satan's cock.

Courtney Love sold the rights to a good quarter of Nirvana's songs last year, so expect more of this.
