A lot of people are buying tix and there are certainly scams going to be in place. Does anyone know of a good way to verify that the tickets are ticketmaster. I heard something once about scratching off some of the white on the ticket. I am meeting someone tonight to buy two for my idiot friends who have no foresight, so any help is appreciated.

There are several sites that tell you how to tell a real from fake ticket, however the reality is, even a real ticket can be called in by the original purchaser as lost or stolen and new tickets sent out VOIDing your tickets.

A ticketmaster retailer can scan your ticket and tell you if it is currently valid. This still doesn't help you from the above and an unscrupulous seller.

The safest thing is to buy from a trusted ticket reseller through Ebay using Paypal. They're not going to risk ripping you off and risk getting bad feedback.

If you bought using Western Union, you should have no problem - especially if the seller is from Canada.

I think if they give you a last minute discount you can be sure they are real tickets too. Scalpers are just nice in general, that's why I said that ...

I really don't get it.. Why didn't all of you who want to go buy your tickets months ago? now you're looking at paying ridiculous prices and/or getting scammed.

Hindsight is a real MFer.

I have gotten my tickets below face every year by NOT getting them from TM. This year I saved $100 on two and got them three days before they sold out. YMMV

I don't know if my problem goes here, but I didn't know were else to put it... A friend of mine isn't going, but he bought his ticket through "international ticketfast"... Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can sell his ticket?... My friend is not looking for any winnings, he's just trying to get his money back...

I really don't get it.

What I don't get is why all these people WITH TICKETS are hanging out in this forum and just waiting to trash everyone who is looking to go to the concert.

I think they look fake. The formatting is weird, and the doors open at 11 am, not 12 according to the website, which means those tickets have innacurate information and are probably not legitimate.

firstcoach
04-14-2010, 10:46 AM

They look just like my layaway tickets, except the $310 part... that I don't understand.

The barcodes are blocked off so nobody else copies them and uses the barcode, I'm sure. Common for tickets being sold online.

nationocean

Uh, so where are the bar codes on each ticket? They scan only, they don't tear the tickets..

JustSteve

umm, assume the paper on the right is covering them up as to keep them a secret.

Did anyone else get scammed on Craigslist by a guy named Edgar who was selling VIP All Access Empire passes? He drove a silver truck and his number was 760-601-6506. My friend spent $1000 and was able to get in but the wristbands were cut off. The security guard said he had cut off at least 30 of those same wristbands Friday night. If you got scammed too please send and email to Alex @ bluedaddy2@yahoo.com He is planning to work with the police to catch this loser!

Those were probably real, btw. Tickets purchased directly from Goldenvoice are $310 face value and look exactly like that. They also staple the receipt to the tickets in the most inconvenient possible spot.
