I will admit, I think I died inside when the set times were released; my April feels empty.

But then I looked closely at the lineup again and remembered why I decided to sit out in the first place.

I'm going to Disneyland on Sunday. Dish yr non-Coachy plans here.

I think the lineup is actually pretty terrific, but I just couldn't make it work this year because I've been so busy.

I'm spending my weekend with my girlfriend, my daughter and maybe a few good friends. With any luck, the weather in NYC will be as agreeable as it's been of late and I'll just relax (while keeping my envy about what's happening at Coachella in check.)

At least I'll be able to do Record Store day right this year. Not going to Coachella means I have two weeks of paychecks ready to spend come Saturday!

And, like I said, my mom felt bad my boyfriend and I weren't going to Coachella this year and got us a pair of tix to Disneyland. Yay.

As most of you now know, I got married last weekend!!!! So I am now happily married! But also totally exhausted; I still haven't recovered from the four days in Vegas. Not just the stress of all the wedding plans, but also the exhaustion of driving there and back, and putting up with my parents while they were here. Plus this week I have had a LOAD of school assignments to catch up on, and I have also been working extra hours too.

Anyway, as a result of all the school and work stuff that's going on - not to mention the fact that I have barely had ANY time with my new wife, and that we are moving house in ten days - I have had to make a last minute decision re: Coachella. I've given my ticket to my friend Barry (who was best man at my wedding and who originally bought my ticket as my wedding present!) and he is attending the festival with another friend, instead. So sadly I won't be there this year, and neither will the Ghostbusters cap.

:(

As I'm sure you can imagine, gutted doesn't even begin to cover it, but it's just not feasible for me right now. I have so many others things going on, and so much other stuff to worry about and to try to do this weekend.

I hope everyone has an AWESOME time though, and I will be looking out for you all on the web coverage!

I've never been to Coachella and the only year I regret missing is 2008, which is specifically because Portishead is amazing (and I've never seen them)and because they completely screwed over North America.

I'm fully aware of the awesomeness that is Coachella, which is why I'll go some day, but it's not like I don't average 45 concerts a year anyway. So...I'm not hurting...too bad ;)

So far I'm finding myself torn between wanting the people who are there to have a good time, and gloating at the things that have gone wrong so far. It's like having an angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other.

(So far, the devil is winning.)

Hehe, I'm feeling exactly the same way. That's a good way to say it.

Yeah the Specials are old. I saw the English Beat recently (who are about equally as old) and it was much better than that. Yeasayer was interesting though. I love how there's at least three, probably four cameras and the two on stage get really close to the instruments so you can see what kind of equipment they're using and everything.

Is somebody recording this like menik suggested?

I keep seeing these posts about the probs this year. Makes me feel even worse, for some reason. If that makes any sense.

I am consoling myself today by attending this big, yearly book fair thing we have. Wow. I love going to it but....

I'm guessing the car camping tickets were a bad idea? Everybody's parking issues sound brutal..

But... At the end of the day, they still got to see Fever Ray, LCD, Jay-Z, PiL, TCV, Deadmu5, Baroness, Avett, Yeasayer, etc, etc. etc.

I'd still take it.

I'm bummed I missed out this year, especially with Gorillaz happening in a few hours. But I had a fantastic Brooklyn weekend hanging with my daughter, scrimmaging with my Nerd Basketball League team (The Black Kerouacs) and listening to the new Blur song about a thousand times.

I wish I could of gone this year but money became a problem as well with school. I still had a great weekend, one of the bests of the school year, but theres still that part of me thats hurting. I've probably have watched deadmau5 on youtube 100 times already. His set looked like it was better than daft punks of 06.

Yeah, I knew I might have been overstepping my bounds with that statement. I really enjoyed both years (vicariously through the webcasts), but '08 had Portishead.

His visuals were incredible but the music was really boring. Or the last last 30 minutes I caught certainly was. The crowd kept trying to explode but he just never dropped it on them...
