They were better in 1999 than they were in 2007. Still not the best ever.

Oasis. J/k, they were terrible.

Um, maybe NIN. Really enjoyed the claustrophobic helplessness of it all.

Hands down, the best performance ever would have to go to Daft Punk '06!!

Personally speaking, that night was by far the best musical experience I've ever had. :)

In my opinion, or, better said, my highlights (which may not be true for anyone else):

'05 - NIN
'06 - Daft Punk
'07 - Soulwax
'08 - Justice
'09 - The Killers

Funny thing is, I still don't own a single Killers or NIN album, and I actually didn't have any Daft Punk or Soulwax albums before that performance, but either the mood during the show or the culmination of all the drugs I took made it the best show that year.

Feel free to disagree with me, but can you really argue with one's experience?

Unless, of course, you want to pull some "Being John Malkovich" shit on me...

Daft Punk....no expectations. Huge surprise, blown away, the fact that people still talk about it so much proves it. Still regularly listen to that amazing bootleg from that night AND yes I still get shivers on the 5th "track" everytime.

thom's voice was def off that night but I've yet to see a more intense performance from them. Even over APW which is far and away my fav Radiohead performance ever.

Honestly, at the time, yeah everyone was pumped for that performance and got super excited to see it actually happen....but looking back 3 years later, the performance pretty much blew, and doesn't hold up well. It def wasn't the RATM of 10-12 years ago.

I don't know about the "best" and my sample-size only goes from 2001-03, but if I had to pick my favorite show ever at Coachella was Blue Man Group's Day 1 performance in 2003.

I had never seen them live and youtube didn't exist then so there wasn't much online about them unless I wanted to download crap through limewire or Kazaa or pay online. I had no idea what I was in for. Still one of the most bizarre musical acts I have ever seen.
