Awesome thanks. if anyone else has other versions, I'm collecting them. Trying to figure out the most functional way. I like that one!

Yeah, it was handy. It seemed like a lot of people made their own version of the set times in excel, with all of the bands included. Mine was pre-planned for who I wanted to see. Being that I had the book that they give you with the set times, I didn't need to have all of the bands if I wanted to make a change here or there.

I'm just holding out for more money. Those took a good amount of work. And I posted them and several YSIs of the Excel sheet mere hours after the set-times were announced. And it was accurate to the published set-times, in the same 5 minute increments.

we're trying to make a more functional coachooser so you don't have to spend ours making one for yourself. I like johns, maybe with an option to omit the bands you dont want to see?

any thoughts people?

We'll be launching it sooner with at least the bands so you could choose your bands ahead of time and see how that fills in once the times come out, and then you can adjust accordingly.

Courtney
02-27-2007, 06:33 PM
I like it when the times are listed like in hawking's, so it starts with the afternoon at the top and then goes later as you go down the page. The other way where you start with the headliners at the top is confusing to me.

psychic friend
02-27-2007, 06:39 PM
so should we change the poster too so the headliners are at the bottom?

mountmccabe
02-27-2007, 06:40 PM

yeah, I like the noon starting at the top...and the order of stages going Main > Outdoor > Gobi > Mojave > Sahara. You should kinda design it like John's, but have like a color code for each stage, and then before you print/view your own, have it where you're choosing your options of what bands u wanna see...the ones you click, show up on the grids...the ones you don't click, don't show up. Then afterwards, it goes to your personal grid, and you can print it from there.

I hate to say it, but the Lollapalooza one from last year was very handy, check it out on their site.

it had the omit feature (kinda) it just highlighted your schedule for you, alerted you of overlaps etc...

C DUB YA

Yeah it wasn't too bad, too bad about the actual fest though.

and delta I'm not getting into anymore releasing of ticket discussions. hehe

Courtney
02-27-2007, 06:43 PM
Yeah, as Menik suggests it makes sense to have the order of the stages listed on the schedule roughly the same as they way they're physically laid out on the polo fields. It's more intuitive, especially for newbies who are trying to visualize getting between stages/tents.

It does make sense to do the order of the stages like the polo field.

why the hell does lollapalooza need 9 stages? hummmm, maybe because that way they can have 9 different sponsors to sponsor each stage. fucking whores.

psychic friend
02-27-2007, 06:53 PM
at least those sponsored stages help keep the ticket price lower.. a major whiner factor about coachella tickets.

menikmati
02-27-2007, 06:54 PM
and so they can advertise 130 BANDS ON 9 STAGES!!! - which in reality means, about 55 KIDZ acts on some small makeshift stages with AT&T signs above them.

C DUB YA
02-27-2007, 06:57 PM

you could also sync with a friend schedule via website before hand

i think i'd rather pay more for coachella tickets than be forced to stare at some huge, ugly sponsor logos. that would kind of ruin the beautiful setting at coachella. so i vote to keep things the way they are at coachella.

I went Lollapalooza when it was a tour, and I did not like the whole corporate thing. I didn't like the lame introductions to the bands either. It was weird... It was like there were commercials during the tour.

I wonder how the whole Polo Fields lease thing will pan out, esp now after Bonnaroo bought the farm they are on and Lolla signed a multi year deal with Chicago.

Hmmm?

Let's hope the do not develop it

Courtney
02-27-2007, 07:35 PM
Unrelated semantics question: Is Coachella on a single polo field or multiple polo fields? I don't know how large a polo field is, and I've always sort of assumed it's multiple fields, but people refer to it both ways...
