Is it just me, or does it seem like there are more contests and promotions for free Coachella tickets this year than any other year?

i would agree. Perhaps since it is 3 day passes only they are giving a bit more so people will more willing to buy them next year. Not that they really need to promotion, but when you implement something new it is nice to have a little more giveaways for publicity.
With that hopefully some people who win will start buying tickets every year from now out.

From the Desert Sun article (http://www.mydesert.com/article/20100318/EVENTS17/3180321/1126/events17/City-Council-OKs-extra-hour-for-Coachella-fest) posted by Grant in different thread

Also included in the contract are hundreds of free tickets for the city: 175 one-day passes for each day of each concert; 75 VIP wristbands for each day of each concert; 50 main/mane stage fabric wristbands for each concert; 30 production wristbands; 30 parking passes for each day of each concert.

This isn't including bands for cops or something silly like that is it?
