im bringing my 12 yr old son for the first time so now is the time im looking to see if anyone is in the same boat and wants to consider camping close to keep it somewhat family oriented.... dont get me wrong i drink my beer and hang out so i guess pg-13 type families are what would work. if interested just pm me and we can start working it out... just trying to keep the vibe cool for my son.. he can hang but it is his first time out to the desert... the ones bringing their kids get where im coming from so all good.. :)

Dude. I just want to say, I'm 18 (not a parent) and I think you're doing your son a great deal of good by exposing him to this festival.

I mean he'll see the drunken, abnormal behavior sooner or later, what better way than to see it in a semi-family friendly environment with his own dad?

Good luck finding some cool parental types, and I hope you and your son have a blast!

Hope to see you guys on the polo fields rockin' out just as hard as I know me and my buddies will be!

I'm bringing 5 teens (12yo, 13yo, three 14yo)

They're good kids. I don't expect any problems.

The kids had a great time. I had the "drug talk" before the show and they were cool with it.

Once again: a sad example of parents not knowing how to parent these days. Since when does the CHILD get to make the decisions with regards to "rewards"? Jeez. YOU'RE the ADULT, YOU make the decision. Parents these days just don't "get it". It's as if every parent wants to be their child's "best buddy" instead of their PARENT. God help our country.

^take a chill pill fella, i think *somebody* has daddy issues. that was a brilliant idea for his kid and as responsible a way to handle it as possible, there is nothing wrong with rewarding your kids and helping them make smart and informed decisions.

Being a bad parent only makes him hotter.

sooo I read in the FAQs that you must be 18 or older to camp or have a parent or gaurdian. I want to bring my 16 year old sister and I am 21...will this work? If anyone has any advice I would appreciate it.

"you must be 18 or older to camp or have a parent or guardian" - seems pretty clear to me.

BTW - is this new? Didn't it used to be 18+ only?

^ However, I do know someone who bought her underage brother a fake ID and security didn't even check it.

GPS, they started the parent thing last year, I believe.
