Alright, I've browsed through the beer threads, did a search, and read through the FAQ, but cannot find the answer.

Is there a definitive answer as to how big of a case of beer per person we can bring into camping?

12? 18? 36?

Thanks!

I think 18 per person seems appropiate. (for 1 day maybe)

I had the same question so I e-mail coachella:

"a case is generally 24..* that is what google says.
each car that is going to park overnight needs a car camping spot."

Also people need a car camping spot to park over night

"generally 24?"

meaning maybe 18 to 30 (give or take a 6-pack?) depending on the mood of the searcher.

If you don't know how many beers come to a case, you're probably not old enough to drink...Just my :2c

Simple. Be prepared to have anything over 24 beers per person confiscated.

Everyone seems to be saying 24, but i would say if bud light or whatever crap beer you chose to drink comes in a 30 pack i would consider that one case. I would think that if they weren't going to allow a 30 case in the website FAQ would say something along the line of, "One case of beer containing no more than 24 beers allowed per person."

Degree of Beer Suckitude may not be a factor to the $8/hr schmo inspecting cars. I plan on trying to bring more than 24 cans, but I ain't gonna moan bitch or cry at the site or here when they snag some.

How about a 36-pack? :D

But that would make way too much sense. Let's instead say "Reasonable amount of beer (limited to 1 case of beer per person)..."

My wife would say a reasonable amount of beer for 4 days is maybe a 6'er. You may drink like a fish and can reasonably knock out 24 beers/day.

I'm hoping I get the potbellied, sweatting like a pig, dying for a beer, on early release, $8/hr schmo inspecting my car.

Ambiguitychella 2010 ftw.

There are certain questions you should just google before asking a message board....

i disagree. there isn't a definitive answer to the question "how many beers are in a case?" this isn't one of those bs threads asking "how can i get my 17 year old cousin in the campgrounds", or "where are the single day tickets" that people post over and over without looking beforehand. it's a legit question that i wanted to get an answer from, from GV.

guyintucson,
what do you call a cardboard box with 12 beers in it? a case of beer.
what do you call a cardboard box with 18 beers in it? a case of beer.
what do you call a cardboard box with 36 beers in it? a case of beer.

that's why the question was asked. a case of beer is a vague term. until PF clarified, that is.

What PF clarified is the exact answer I found when I google'd the question. It really isn't that hard. Plus, I thought it was pretty common knowledge that a case of beer was 24 beers.

Google "How Many Beers are in a Case?" and tell me what answers you find. I guarantee the correct answers will tell you 24.

No one calls a 12-pack of beer a "case". If someone was supposed to bring a case of beer to a party and showed up with a 12-pack it would piss everyone in the party off.

With the first link taking you to an answerbag.com. A site that others answer in a similar forum to this one. The fact of the matter is, there is no universal definition in the beer industry as what constitutes a case. Bud Light is sold in 24 packs in some places and 30 to 36 packs in others. It is all dependent on the Beer Company and where and how they choose to market their cases.(As the many of the links discuss)

thank you noolan. there isn't a definitive answer if you google it, just websites with people saying what they think it generally refers to, much like this thread.

that was my point. i've never known the term "case of beer" to refer to a certain number of beers. it's different for everyone depending on your area and the manufacturer. a case is simply packaging.

i'd prefer 36 =P
