I actually meant to start a thread about this yesterday, i'm pretty fuckin stoked for this to start. The only downside to it is Oprah being the narrator for it, but i think i can deal with that to see the amazing footage they have put together for this.

I'm pretty excited for this myself. I've watched Planet Earth at least 3 times and have loved it every time. Gonna see if I can get a video up.

I wasn't aware Oprah was gonna narrate. It doesn't do anything for me, but it doesn't take away either. I've watched other documentaries she has narrated and she does a decent job. But I can also look past who she is, I don't follow or keep track of anything about her.

Makes me glad we went HD.

Looking good so far, Oprah isn't as bad as i was expecting her to be, but someone else probably would have been better.

Morgan Freeman. It was still pretty excellent though.

Great series but the narration SUCKS! What happened to Sigourney Weaver? Even Mike Row would have done a better job.

i take it you have direcTV then, but the kimono dragon and the pebble frog were 2 of the most interesting for me. I also thought it was cool how they did the little thing at the end on the making of the series, all really cool so far.

I'm glad the seal escaped.

The water buffalo getting eaten by komono dragons on the other hand, awesome.

It was all about the toad tumble. That tarantula was bad news.

That was an awesome show but god Oparah even sounds like she's reading out loud instead of narrating. Might have to pick up the BBC version hoping for the guy that did their planet earth. What's James earl Jones doing these days? I'd rather have Lord Vader doing narration than her.

I agree with most of this. While it didn't really bother me too much, I would have appreciated someone else.

Man, those Komodo Dragon are freaking insane!! I can't believe he went after that buffalo. Then they just all start following it till it lays down. Fucking disturbing.

Was that an AWESOME camera shot or what!? That's probably one of the things I enjoyed most. The Jesus Christ lizard, the tarantula, the chameleon eating that praying mantis....all amazing shots. Thoroughly enjoyed them.

I kind of felt like some of it was a little childish. Like when the salamander was in the little puddle of water and the rain drops were "bombing" on it, the sounds they were playing, while cute, I thought were a little much. That along with some of her inflection made it a tad difficult at times.

Overall though, I really liked it. Can't wait to see more.

And that chameleon in the desert, man, that was awesome. Black on one side and white on the other. There was just way too much cool in this.

Man, those Komodo Dragons are relentless. If I was a camera man, I would have had trouble fighting the urge to put the buffalo out of its misery. Also, that Pebble Frog was amazing. I can't wait till next week!

I may have kicked the buffalo over sooner. The suspense would be killing me.

I used to want camera people to help the seemingly helpless animals, but then that wouldn't be nature at work. Or would it?
