I love the new Deerhoof, and Deerhunter as well. It seems like this is the year when deer could come out of the headlights and take over this land

Hehe, well I'm glad to know that at least it's not going to be another year of the "wolf" bands.

Myth Takes is awesome. I also like the Klaxons album. And Radiohead whenever they decide to release their album this year...

There is a local Phoenix indie band called Dear and the Headlights (http://www.dearandtheheadlights.com/) what recently released their first album.

I didn't particularly like them live, though.

I'd personally like to thank the thread starter for making me listen to Voltbeat.

And by thank I mean "stab in the ear".

I'd have to say Mika's "Life In Cartoon Motion", followed closely by Patrick Wolf's "The Magic Position" and Dungen's "Tio Bitar".

So far this years all about new albums from old favorites:Arcade Fire, Bloc Party, The Shins, Kaiser Chiefs, and from the five tracks I've heard of it the new Travis album will most likely get added to that as well.

I've not listened all the way thru yet because what I heard didn't catch my attention.
I'm listening to the new Blonde Redhead and it's fuckin awesome. By far my favorite of theirs. I'm gonna check out the new Avey Tare next. I hear tell that it's recorded backwards, so that'll be interesting.

i heard through the grape vine that it is a "non-stop shit storm" or something to that effect. the air album that is.

Also, the Besnard Lakes album is great.

the avey tare wasn't recorded backwards as far as I know, but they sure did it in post. it's still good. very strange. I believe it's a joke leak though, it'd be kind of silly otherwise.

Ha ha, the air album leaked back in december. it's OK.

Hell yes! Mika's Life in Cartoon Motion is definitely my favorite cd so far.

oops, yeah, i meant that the release was backwards, at least the pre-release copies. I bet it's a joke, but it sounds really interesting.

The Blonde Redhead is my favorite so far. There's like 5 or 6 stellar songs on there, and the rest are pretty good. Oh, and it gets bonus points for nearly getting me killed.
