View Full Version : WHO IS YOUR ALL TME FAVORITE BAND?

C DUB YA
02-23-2007, 08:13 PM
Doesn't have to be a Coachella performer, or even an alive performer for that matter? But hey maybe you are in heaven because your favorite is here at Coachella. So, who is the one band/artist that sums it all up for you? Your desert Island band, the song that gets played at your funeral, etc...

for me, its always been about...

A few people mentioned songs on here too. Above are my bands but I've always loved 'Boys of Summer' by Don Henley as my favorite song. Can't get enough of that one. Besides that I'm not too into solo Henley but the 'Eagles' made some amazing music back in the day.

I have stated many times on this board that PJ is the greatest live band in the world. I have seen them 6 times and will continue seeing them every chance I get. You are right about how people do not know PJ until they see them live. I saw them at Madison Square Garden 2 nights in a row. I can easily say that those two shows were the two greatest concerts I have ever been to. They released the first night on DVD and it is epic. I cant wait until they tour the US again

No shit! Arcade Fire are the only contemporary band gaining on Radiohead for me as well. If you were a woman or I was gay, I'd be in love with you.

Haha. Why does everyone keep thinking I am a guy? I am a woman. Hear me roar....or something.

Cafe Tacuba. When I was 14 I heard Rarotonga and was lost to them. Msically equivalent to Radiohead for rock in Mexico. They're awesome.

Recently, Arcade Fire. This might be only because I'm listening to Neon Bible right now :) I have to say these are the only guys for whom I went at 12am to a record store to buy their album though.

THE BEATLES,

TOOL,

I,v really never been able to pick my favorite between those three.

The band that I have been the most obsessed about ever is the Cure.

In High school it was Queen.
After High School it was The Cure.
1989 to present is the Pixies.

If i were to choose a band that meant the most to me and really defined an era in my life, it would be The Cure.

Metric were my gateway drug, they were the first band I loved after finding for myself, rather than inheriting from somebody else. The sheen's long since worn off, but I threw on Old World Underground the other day, and found myself getting all nostalgic for um...four years ago...

I'm with you. My brain generally tells me it's time to stop liking them so much, but I just keep going back to them....and the Beach Boys.

From this century, I love the White Stripes and Spoon.

Perhaps it speaks to my lack of musical breadth, but nothing has changed for me in the two years since I posted this. The Beatles and The Beach Boys just stand ahead of all other bands as far as I am concerned.
