I know that wasn't part of the song, it was just what it made me immediately think of.

The Ramones suck, but that guitar riff was interesting for 10 seconds every 30 seconds.

'74...holy crap. I must possess this.

"It's Alive" would be my all time favorite live album if it didn't fade out every 4th song. I think that is the last Tommy tour.

We ain't got no friends
Our troubles never end

The remastered version of Leave Home has a pretty fantastic show from 1976 at the Roxy in Los Angeles. The sound quality isn't nearly as good as on It's Alive, but it's still thrilling.

It's amazing how much they sped everything up over the years instead of slowing them down (AHEM, I'm looking at you, Sting.)

I did. Met them all at varying times, too. Well, most of them, anyway.

Rolling Stone (http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2010/03/04/watch-found-footage-of-suicide-the-ramones-at-maxs-kansas-city/#) has newly unearthed footage of the Ramones (and Suicide!) playing Max's Kansas City. It's Marky on drums, but the other three are the originals. The piece doesn't specify the year, but Max's closed in 1981.

Anybody that saw them saw them before any of them died. Joey died first, and they hadn't toured in a couple of years.

But yeah, I saw them in a dive bar in the 90s, with Frank Black opening. It was Joey, Johnny, Marky and CJ, but of course DeeDee & Tommy were alive also. And Ritchie if you want to count him...which I do because he was supposedly responsible for them speeding everything up in the 80s.

I saw the Ramones in 1983 (or so). It's funny to see teenagers wearing Ramones t-shirts these days, because I wonder if they even know who the Ramones are.

They have these recordings and other documents the kids can check out. Why would they wear a t-shirt of something that was never well known to begin with unless they knew what it was?

fiyahhh!
