Last year, it was no metal water bottles for me! Small thing, but isn't it the little things that matter

prolly attempting to see Madonna live, but resigned to watching an outdoor monitor feed of the performance while still fighting to see what was going on onscreen. And Im 6'2" for Christs sake. What a waste of time that was.

2003 was the last one I went to. The big crowd can be irritating to an extent, but it's not disappointing to me because it's a sign that it's doing well and should continue to thrive for several years.

The cancelations. Wilco, Doves, the Cocteau Twins, the Subways, the Streets, the Bees, the Field, Glasvegas.... All heartbreakers. But Wilco did make up for it later.

It's hard to be dissatisfied with anything that actually happens there, I mean it's like complaining that the couches in heaven are too soft.

Although:

What a waste of time that was.yeah that was pretty lame. We felt like we were watching someone play with legos a half mile away during that set.

Really hard to be disappointed about anything really...but yeah...MIA.

but still couldnt turn away from it. That was a horrible situation but it was nice to get a glance or two at the real madonna. haha.

The bathrooms are always the most disappointing thing for me. They are filthy and way too hot. You wait in line to pee and walk in and there some jerk before you exploded all over the place. Why is it so hard to make it into the toilet.

i'm still sad about missing muse & le tigre in 2004, even though i felt justified in seeing both adam freeland & the cure.

and if that's my biggest disappointment, GV is doing something right :thu

-Red Hot Chili Peppers performance in '07....it just didnt do it for me despite being a RHCP fan.

-Missing '08 therefore missing Portishead.

-Learning about Coachella in '07, therefore missing Daft Punk's historic performance.

Going with the wrong people in 07. I flew out and we camped in J tree. We missed the first day completely because the girl with the car didn't know any of the bands. On sat/sun we arrived no earlier than 3pm. For over 1,000$ spent on the trip it was a total waste.

Morrissey was a little disapponting, although "How soon is now?" at the end was really good.

But Thievery Corporation were a great find...amazing performance...we've been enjoying them ever since...

^ THIS

and after Crookers last year the Chemical Brothers seemed kinda.....boring. Maybe it was just me, but that was the first time I saw them live and I really expected more.

oh, and not finding out about coachella until '07, that really is the most disappointing thing.

A couple years I have waited too long to buy a Coachella tshirt and had to settle for the leftovers that didn't sellout. This year I will focus and make my purchases on Friday. I recommend anyone set on purchasing a particular design follow my example.

Spiritualized. I love them so much, and it was a terrible clusterfuck of sound issues and whatnot that they never seemed to recover from. You really think that they didn't recover? I thought the last half of the set was awesome, and they got back on track right up to the end. I did feel bad for Jason and company up there during that first half, however... twas brutal.

Now BRMC in 2004, THAT was a horrible expedition of sound problems the whole way through. Ugh!

these are good ones, the MGMT show in '08 that I attempted to watch comes to mind as well. I bailed like 5 minutes into the show because it was so crowded and all the neon wearing 15 year olds made me uncomfortable.

Not attempting to bring my dslr on Friday or Saturday last year. I saw more and more around each day - just had to pick your pony at the front gate. Also not jumping on merch earlier.
Etienne was disappointing, and that dang Mexican flag blocking the visual took something away from the stigma of 'the cube', that and people with green laser pointers.

depeche mode was supremely boring at coachella. they were much better when they toured to arizona. they just picked a really, super boring setlist it felt like to me. it was nice makeout music, but that's about it.

I think that was my issue too. The set list was extremely boring. They should have come out with non-stop hits. Epic fail IMHO

The Field not showing up was pretty :( . I ran out of money and overdrafted my account in 08, that was pretty disappointing as well. Damn super high service costs on the onsite atms. At least I learned my lesson.

It's not like it was the first time he played Coachella, he knew the score before he signed up. Sadly, he looked more suitable for a Las Vegas lounge than the Mainstage. FAIL!

Siouxsie and the Banshees were awful in 2002, I'd forgotten about that.
Etienne de Crecy was a horrible way to end last year's show - ewwww.

And no matter how bad Depeche Mode was - Audio Bullys blew dead bears in the Sahara at that time. Those robots kinda made up for it though right after.

^MIA is an abomination.

I saw her at OSL and goddamn was she terrible. You could hear digital watches tick as she debuted her new "song".

It was the sound of a one hit wonder dieing on stage. Not pretty.
