That doesn't look too good. If the sound is anything like the production they'll surely blow.

I read somewhere on the boards that they lack energy when they're playing...but I'm hoping they can put out a good show....

I dunno, they look pretty lethargic to me.

I've seen them twice. The first time was in '06 when they opened with Mates of State on a Death Cab for Cutie tour stop at the Berkeley Greek theater and the second time was at the '07 Treasure Island fest. I was blown away by their performance at the Greek and was underwhelmed by their TI show, which tended to be more spacey than the first time that I saw them.
I feel they warrant a look at Coachella, barring they don't conflict with any kick ass artist that is.

I haven't seen them since 2007. They were really fun but I was really drunk.

I've seen Spoon four times, twice on their own and twice in a festival setting (once at Virgin Festival and once at Bonnaroo) and I felt like the two times when I saw them on their own were vastly superior to the festival shows. They seem to feed off the crowd a lot and the festival crowds just weren't particularly amped up for them. They're not a band that's going to move around a lot, but Britt Daniel does get pumped up and give it a little extra something special when the crowd is lively. Not sure what this means for Coachella, but I think they'd be better in a tent late at night as opposed to during the day on the Main or Outdoor stage where the sun and heat drains the energy out of the audience.

Well, I hope they kill. I'm very excited to see them. A later performance seems like a good plan.

I hope they tear it up. Like the rats did in Willard.

They were great at the Fonda in 07, but they were bad when they supported Beck at the Bowl in 08.

I saw them at the Hollywood Bowl with Beck and I thought they sucked. But I have been told by others that they have been really good in past shows. Maybe its a big venue thing which doesn't bode well for Coachella.

I'm particularly excited for when they play 'don't you evah' and 'got nuffin'. Both of those songs definitely kill.

I've seen them twice, once at Street Scene '08 and once at Holiday Hootenanny '09.
Their Street Scene show was once of the best I've ever been to. I especially remember The Underdog being amazing, easily in my top 5 concert moments. However, at Holiday Hootenanny they were only average. I feel like they'll kill it at Coachella, though, especially with a big crowd.

I saw them at a really tiny club in LA supporting Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga, and they absolutely killed it. They had the horn section there, I was in the front row, and I was drunk, so I'm probably a bit biased. But I'm definitely catching them Sunday (as long as they don't conflict with, well, anyone. Sunday is nuts).

though they're by no means my top choice for the slot. they'd be awesome for gobi sunset...

They were great at the Fonda in 07
this was a fantastic show, though i think their performance benefited from a smaller, more intimate venue. it will be interesting to see how their set plays out in a festival atmosphere...i'm sure it will be at least above average.

I have seen them 4 times, street scene in 07 and 08, holiday hootinany and the independence jam i argee with ghetto that street scene 08 was one of the best performaces I've ever seen a band play I was dancing around during the underdog with 15 of my friends having the time of my life. the crowd at hootinany wasn't too happy for them after phoenix played so they were not as good but still sounded stellar. they can be very trippy with their reverb and echo, so if ur not in the right mood could be kind of boring, but a sunset set or late night tent set would be perfect for them.

Saw them last week (6th time) and it was the best I'd seen them. Solid set covering all the albums, and plenty of energy.

I saw them at the Holiday Hootenanny in December and left half way through their set as they didn't bring it at all (whatever it may be, it wasn't broughten), and I was excited to see them. They lost me with a lame "Sandy Eggo" joke...deal breaker! I hope they make it up this year!

I wasn't even a fan of theirs until I saw them at a freaking radio festival and it totally changed my mind. They were really really good live.

I saw them at the Block Party in Seattle in 07. First time hearing them ever, and it was live, and it was good. I'm very happy they are playing Coachella this year.

They're good live. I saw them as headliners at Henry Fonda and one other time when they opened for Beck and they are definitely better as headliners but they're really tight. Love the drummer
