I was already dying over how many bands I want to see there are - and this is before I even start looking into the ones I don't know - and now one of my very favorite bands ever.

I love you Reid brothers.

This is going to be a realy good year!!! The headliners, are what they are, their fine (Rage is pretty awesome). But the undercard is AWESOME. Tokyo Police Club is great; LCD Soundsystem, Tilly and the Wall, !!!, Placebo, Rodrigo y Grabriela, The Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys, SIlversun Pickups, AND... Jesus and Mary Chain! I could go on and on... (which I have) :-)

Mike I will totes make a JAMC mix for folks that aren't that familiar. "Snakedriver" is a great song and a good indication of their sound. I think that's the song on that soundtrack.

This line-up is great, however I am a bit saddened about all the possible conflicts on Friday. I truly hope they're indeed working to make it so there are less conflicts this year.

I mean, there are at least 15 acts I would like to catch on Friday. I guess there could be worse problems.

Yeah, I noticed that too, that Saturday was a little heavy and Friday was a little light. Even though Friday just got JAMC, I have a feeling that we're going to get one more fairly big name that day. It just doesn't seem to have as much mainstream appeal as the other days. Bjork and JAMC both have loyal followings, and Interpol, Sonic Youth and Arctic Monkeys will bring some people in, but I don't think it'll grab the average concert-goer the way that Saturday and Sunday's lineup will.

To be honest, they are probably intentionally making Friday a little bit lighter, as many people will not be attending until Saturday, if I had to guess.

Ha, I was not saying it was a bad thing. I think Friday's lineup maybe the one that I'm most excited for, just pointing out that there is room to add a few more bands. But Herbalk, you may be right, it may be intentional, given that people DO have jobs and may have to work on Friday.

York, what I was trying to say is that the other days have some more "mainstream" artists playing, with Saturday having RHCP and Tiesto and Sunday having Rage Against the Machine, Willie Nelson and The Roots. Friday's lineup just looks a little lighter, but I think, at least in my opinion, that it may be the best day.

i almost did the same thing last year for tool, and ran out of fundage, so then i tried like hell to win tickets from our radio station, and still failed. arrRRggg. so this will be my first year. im a chella-noob i spose. pity me :P

I would suggest these Saturday acts for you then:
ARCADE FIRE (like em or not, this is their year, period)
BLONDE REDHEAD (awesome live)
FRATELLIS (buzz band that can deliver the goods)
THE RAPTURE (always a live favorite, they killed in 04)
LCD SOUNDSYSTEM (new material is gonna be dope)
BLACK KEYS (are always good live)

Saturday is missing 2 headliners, and judging from the other days / past years, one of them will be a 'reunion' band. look at the headliners (the acts written in bold)...there's only really RHCP that's a SERIOUS Saturday headliner.

Arcade Fire, maybe, but certainly not the Decemberists & manu chao. Am I wrong? I think we're missing 2 headliners on saturday.

either way, the whole weekend looks sweeeeeeet.

The Happy Mondays were a Factory Records band from mid 80s to early 90s. And then the late 90s. And then they reformed again recently. Dance-influence pop, somewhat related to the Charlatans and the Inspiral Carpets. And the Stone Roses and New Order. I'd to see them if the schedule works out right.
