My friend and I are planning to travel to Coachella from San Francisco the day before, and we need a hotel room with a third person so we can check in. Message if you can help.

Do you have to be 21 to check into a hotel? I don't think so.

i'm 17 from southern california and i'm REALLY, desperately in need of a hotel room. i'm willing to split the cost of the room with you guys.... isn't everything booked already though?

How old do guardians have to be? What is your gender?

Why do you want a hotel room? With camping you will most defiantly have more fun, and this year every time you wanna have lunch, drink beer or whatever you can just go back to your campsite. I'm coming down from the bay area and camping, as are a bunch of other people, look in the carpooling section for the SF to Coachcella thread. But I guess if you're into that whole showering/air conditioning/siting indoors thing then have fun with that. oh and camping is a few hundred bucks cheaper.

They're under 18. Read camping FAQ.

oh. 17? well that made everything i just said moot. Check out Lake Cahullia, you don't have to be 18 to camp there, and its pretty fucking dope. I stayed there last time coz some of my friends weren't 18 and had a great time.

i suppose you could maybe ask someone who is older than you by a big margin to say there your guardian

looks good... how did you camp there? do you need an RV for showers and stuff or do they have those at the camp site?

oh, and my gender is male haha. ... my plan C is to have any of you generous campers act as my guardian and maybe you'll let me crash on your plot of dirt??

you can RV or car camp. you can reserve an actual spot or put your name down for overflow camping. There a couple little showers there, and a pool thats open sat/sun, because you're not supposed to swim in the lake. (didn't stop me, I paid for a lakeside campsite, and dammit if i wasn't gonna make the most of it) Its a little more pricey than onsite camping, but only like $20 more total. oh and every campsite gets its own water spigot, and some have electrical outlets. Well the overflow ones don't, but it's not a big deal. oh and the best part is that they don't search any of your stuff, so feel free and bring in whatever you want to drink. I think thats about it. oh and check the reservation website asap and often, coz if there is an opening, it will disappear quick.

maybe so, however put yourself in the shoes of the person who is going to act as your guardian. lets say your "guardian" is 35. When you are 35 would you want a 17 year old hanging out at your spot all weekend ?

i wouldn't be hanging around the person's spot all weekend. i would be at the show from noonish till 1-2a.m... all i want is a place to sleep :( i'm not looking for a babysitter

You don't have a parent who's willing to rent the room for you??

the first year I went, I was 17 and had to get a room with my mom and grandma, and two other friends that came. Mom's and Grandma went antique shopping during the day, and we just came back to the motel after the fest. It worked out pretty well, but it was expensive as shit.

well, i think even if someone goes in with you as your guardian, you could still buy your own spot. but idk someone might like you and let you crash on their spot. i think you would be much happier with your own spot though, and assuming you were to go with at least 1 other person thatd be like 25 bucks from each of you for a whole weeekend of camping. not bad.

Hola Coachellers,

If the 17 y/o's haven't found a place yet, you guys can stay with us.

We're a young, professional couple looking to split costs for a vacation rental.

Average is about $200 per night, we'll split that four ways. Since you guys are coming from SF, you can drive over to our apt then we can head over together and split gas.

We have FBs to share if you wanna do some of stalking.

I just want to split lodging with two other people since my boyfriend and I are SO NOT interested in camping. Also, a vacation rental will be ideal since we'll be saving money by cooking our own meals and not run the risk of getting our shizz jacked.

This offer is open to others so you'll probably see this posting somewhere else on this forum.

26 f, and 27 M. No drugs with us. Most looking forward to Faith No More.

I'll definitely camp with you, I'm 18 though, and I probably will be getting fucked up. And my gf's coming.

But hey, we won't bother you or we'll share our booze/weed ( if u pitch in )

But you gotta chip in for camping DEFINITELY
