This will be my first year at Coachella, having only previously attended Outside Lands "festival".

At that crap, it seemed everyone within a hundred yards of any stage had blankets set down, which were pretty much impenetrable. So instead of dancing and partying to the music, you had to tiptoe around granola covered blankets in order to get a decent spot.

And it's hard to be the first one to walk right on it-especially when you will be confronted by thousands of dicks still wearing their bicycle helmet. No thank you.

My question is this: is there ever a problem with blanketiers at Coachella?

Blankets aren't allowed in the festival area.

If there's no other way around them it's OK to step on them!

This is true, but during such sets as Radiohead, there was already a crazy amount of people there, and those blankets were everywhere. You coulda seen that shit from space. EVERYWHERE!!

Blankets are used to kidnap high profile people, or to cover celebrity's faces.

weren't they renting blankets at some point? I could be thinking of something entirely different...

Kinda hard to talk to, most of them are dead by now.

or do what i did and walk across them. No one can logically argue setting a blanket up in front of a stage with a lively band and expect people to listen. I was sort of an asshole about it, but its rock n roll baby.

but thankfully blankets are not officially allowed at coachella (although some fuckers will still get them in)

I recommend bringing a very warm blanket for sleeping at night. It can be terribly cold at night.
