After two 7 inches, several tapes, an LP that no one has heard, and countless shows, Pigeon Religion's third 7 inch "Crystallized Meth" will be available for mass consumption on Video Disease Records.

Previously released as a cassette tape with shortened versions of 2 songs, this release will feature the songs on that cassette, in there full, unedited form, along with an unreleased track.

Expected release is early to mid March 2010. This release will be limited to 400 copies only, and there will be no repress for this record. There will also be a limited, mail order only edition of the 7 inch limited to the first 100 orders.

For the uninitiated, Pigeon Religion plays a Flipper/Birthday Party style drone that only the sun bleached landscape of Arizona could produce. Harsh feedback and uncomfortable riffs conjure up images of abandoned meth labs and blood stained dumpsters, those that have witnessed there live performances can attest to the disturbing atmosphere that Pigeon Religion can create.

The band will have these available for there shows at South by Southwest. For those of you who won't be at South by Southwest, you can purchase the record here: http://vdrecords.bigcartel.com/

Yeah, same band.

Damn, how I wanted to make it back to see them. By the time I got back to Revolver Records even Earthmen and Strangers were done (I wanted to see them again, too, dammit.)

But, yeah, they're a crazy, quite exciting band. I think I only have one 7"; I want more.

And, yeah, spam, but I'mn't gonna be the one to complain and I'mn't gonna feel bad about bumping this thread since it's at the top anyway.

Next up was Pigeon Religion. I first saw them a couple months ago (see review above!) and this show was completely different. They didn't have the horns, they didn't have the dirty movie projector... they had a room illuminated only by their big strobe. They had red paint poured on the head of the floor tom - an interesting choice, given the lack of light - and, weirdly enough, audible vocals! Or, at least I could hear when the guitarist sang. When the bassist sang it was mostly mud but I didn't mind as it was those songs that the guitarist made up for it with the best slabs of noise. It was a heavy, oppressive performance. I want more.

I am not in the band but it is indeed the same band who played roosevelt row. I did not make the show but I heard Alice Cooper attended. Their next show is scheduled for March 13th (the day before they leave for South By Southwest). It is at the old bike coop (aka YOBS) on 19th and Roosevelt in Tempe. It is a show not to be missed.
