So glad they got added! Probably the closest I'll ever get to seeing a New Order reunion, fucking Hooky. They do throw in New Order songs in their set though.

Yes. I came in my pants when I heard they were added. Praying for Ceremony.

Didnt new order also do joy division songs?

Yes. Not always, but they milked it quite a bit from 1996 onwards.

Bad Lieutenant will play a couple of NO songs, as well as a couple of JD tracks. Plus 'Ceremony'. Feel free to attribute that to whichever band you think it suits best.

Yes. I came in my pants when I heard they were added.

The good news: it's February - you've time to change.
The bad news: being at Coachella means we'll miss them at the Regency, which is deeply annoying.

I'm not a big enough fan to see them at the Regency anyway, so I'm really happy about this. Can't fathom having to miss them Saturday.

This is very cool news! As close to Joy Division and New Order as it gets. This makes Saturday much better for me.

This is a great add, but only if there's no conflicts. New Order in 1990 was one of the most boring live shows I have ever seen, yet I will always love their music.

I thought they were pretty boring live in 93 but to this day it was the only show i have been to where people run from their seats to the bathroom and back...i have no idea what they are afraid they will miss...Bernard moving his head?

As far as a strictly live show goes, New Order got pretty boring after the 120 minutes tour in 1989. Every show after that has just been "ok" and I've seen a few of them.

A good thing though is the different bands and albums that BL chooses from.

I saw Bad Lieutenant a few months ago in Manchester, England, n it was Stephen Morris drumming for them that night, so I assume there's every chance that it'll be him drumming at the Coachella gig..

As for material, the first half of the show featured songs from the Bad Lieutenant album, before switching to New Order & Electronic stuff, and finishing with a handful of Joy Division songs.. Definitely a good band to see live, given the range of songs they have their pick of playing..

Also, the 'Temptation' live video that was linked earlier in this thread was taken by me at the BL gig i went to.. I'll try to link the rest of my videos on here so people can check them out, but if i can't get that to work, then just click on my username on the youtube page for the 'temptation' vid, n you'll see the rest of them in my uploads list...

Hope this is useful info for some of you, n that my videos on youtube are enough to convince you that Bad Lieutenant are definitely a band worth seeing live (and one that'll make you kick youself if you miss them!)...

"Atmosphere" used to get some play too.

I'm pretty sure it was "Atmosphere" + "Love Will Tear Us Apart" + "Transmission" as the 3 JD songs New Order played @ Coachella in 2005.

I guess in hindsight that show was a little boring, although seeing Peter Hook groove it out in a classic black adidas leaf shirt and hearing the aforementioned songs along with a super long "Blue Monday" and "Bizarre Love Triangle" is pretty unforgettable. Especially since they up and broke up not too long after that.

Not a bad strategy on Sumner's part to put asses in the seats. I am now going to leave Hot Chip early to make certain I am there for "Ceremony."

Still conflicted with HOT CHIP though, you know they will kill it.

i will only be able to catch the end of their set though cause of FNM

and i might miss it completely because my itinerary has me running stage to stage with no piss or food breaks

one must eat... and piss.

This is probably the biggest conflict for me (although GV has several for me to choose from), Bad Lt and FNM. I never got a chance to see NO, and this was going to be it. I guess I will fly over to their stage as soon as FNM finishes up.

This unfortunately will be a empty shell version of New Order. Hell, even the actual New Order in 2005 played like they weren't all that interested in being at Coachella, one of my favorite bands put on a hell of a boring Coachella set. This will probably be better, but it wouldn't have to do much.

New Order and NIN back to back in 2005 was the reason I started going to Coachella. While NO's performance was a tad blah, I never thought I'd get to see them, so for me it was very memorable.

The FNM, BL conflict this year was a big reason I decided to sit it out and not even attempt to find last minute tickets. This was the first Coachella I missed since 2005.

Anyone underwhelmed by the Bad Lieutenant album should seek out the debut EP by Freebass, Peter Hook's new band (also featuring Andy Rourke of the Smiths and Mani of The Stone Roses and Primal Scream). It's so staggeringly awful that Bad Lieutenant starts to look positively Beatle-esque in comparison. "Dark Starr" is the best song Spinal Tap never recorded.
