Spacemem 3 is reuniting for shows but they will be billed as Spectrum. This will be happening in Europe sometime very soon.

I'd love to believe it would be a proper Sonic Boom/Jason Spaceman reunion, but I thought there was some serious animosity there. Not that bands can't work around that sort of thing, especially for a bit of dough...

But they've been offered the money before and Jason wasn't interested. I mean, Spiritualized is a proper hit so what incentive does he has to go back to Pete?

I'd love this if it were true, but I'm highly skeptical.

This just got confusing. Spectrum (aka Sonic Boom from Spacemen 3) are already touring Europe on March/April. Will be odd if it turns out to be secret reunion shows.

I can't really give you guys a solid confirmation. I have a friend who knows a guy who plays with Sonic Boom who said it is going to happen. Take it with a grain of salt but I believe him.

Actually, just noticed on Last.FM that some of the French dates are listed as Spacemen 3 + Spectrum.

That sounds like what he was talking about.

Well if that's legit it better come here.

At least to LA, since Pete's decided to claim it as his second home.

If it's legit it will premeate the universe with joy.

Also there's nothing about it on the Spiritualized board.

That sounds like what he was talking about.

Ask him if it's just France, as I might contemplate the journey to Brighton if Spacemen 3 are playing too.

I don't believe it. But this is extremely interesting. Vinyl, you seem like someone with some insight. Even if this performance is nothing, it seems like some interesting progress.

I've been seeing a lot of their records lately. Just all out of nowhere. They were up front at Vacation Vinyl, and some other shops. Hope it's a sign we'll see them in LA soon.

I'm a fucking disaster. I've always heard of Spacemen 3 but have never heard the music until now. I have some youtubes playing in the background and its fucking amazing stuff. Seriously, shame on me.

seriously shame on them for not reuniting at coachella if this is true

THIS IS SPECULATION AND ONLY SPECULATION

Maybe they said no until they tested out the shows in Europe 1st?

Was lucky enough to see Spacemen 3 in London back in their heyday. Sure wouldn't mind the opportunity to see them again. I listed Spectrum as one of my top 5 bands I'd like to see at Coachella in another thread so I'll just take Pete at this point. But Pete and Jason would be out of this universe! I'll go get my fluffy pillow and 'delics ready just in case...

Marco, have you listened to "Transparent Radiation" yet?

If not, you just wait until you hear that masterpiece.

ATP NY is getting Spacemen 3? Seems like a distinct possibility.

Word on the street is that the French are just terrible at interpreting bookings; it's Spectrum playing Spacemen 3 songs (exclusively?) and NOT actually Spacemen 3. So not much different from a regular Spectrum show.
