if this is the full lineup...tickets shouldn't be more than they were last year. There were I think 104 bands last year over 2 days. I expect between 125 and 140 depending on GV's plans.

125 bands? not necessarily ...

Paul T was quoted as saying they were moving to a more spread out schedule, less conflicts ... so, this may be 98% done with the occasional one off adds ...

everything is up in the air ... who knows, maybe they go with 4 stages/tents over 3 days ...

expect the unexpected.

then why should they be charging almost $100 more for almost the same number of bands? That's lame if you ask me

Quality versus Quantity, less than two bills for this line-up is criminal. Why are you even considering going if it's as simple as a certain number of bands must equal some $ amount? The fact that conflicts will be reduced, ALONE, makes this a great deal. Having perhaps the best festival line-up ever is plus, now if we could get rid of the midnight curfew and start the shows in the afternoon (out of the heat) going til late in the morning with DJ's closing out every thing at dusk we'd have the ultimate festival aka Benicassim, but as it stands this is pretty damn good.

I guess because at the moment...i had more bands to see last year. I'm sure GV will pull through for me

Easy, because A. You are paying for the extra day and B. If the number of acts is the same and the amount of hours is the same, you will be paying more money to see longer sets from whatever acts are there, which to me is better than having 200 acts and the same short set times.

I'm not too happy about the increase in ticket prices. I mean... this is a hundred dollars more than Bonnaroo... and I have gone to both festivals every year since 2003 and they are equally exhillerating both in experience and musical lineup. Coachella has a far-more-uncomfortable means of accomodating solace for campers. Do you think they are raising the tickets solely on the merit of how good or expensive the acts will be this year, or do you think they might be doing something for the people paying their mortgages? I'd love to see them give us more space to camp, or charge less for food and smokes, or allow us to bring in our own hash at least.

This shouldn't come out whiny, because I have gone, and will continue to go for a long time. I'd like to hear some sort of justification for the ticket prices so I can feel a little better about an extra month of putting back money for music festivals.

Oh the banes of being a hard-working hippy. Maybe my username should be Oxymoron.

Man I can't believe you guys are whinging! This is the most amazing lineup, and it costs you practically nothing! It's gonna cost me about $3,000 to be there, and I'm happy as larry! We have the big day out, and that costs $125. Go check the lineup at www.bigdayout.com and see whether you reckon this is worth twice the price of that. Dead set - best lineup ever - deserves the money.

You guys are spoilt!

You make 3,000$ sound like pocket change. That's 3 months of work BEFORE taxes are taken out, for me.

I may have found some discrepancies in your list. The performers that I did not see in your list are: Against Me!, El-P, The Jesus and Mary Chain, Mando Diao, Ratatat, Teddybears. The ones that you do have listed that I didn't see on the poster are: DJ Heather, David Guetta, Of Montreal, Pop Levi, Satellite Party, Yeva. I'm sure that I made some errors of my own....perhaps someone else could verify.

Best festival line-up ever? Damn, what the hell did you smoke before you wrote that? Seriously, that's the stupidest thing I've heard on these boards since cary1234's heyday.

I see that there are a few different "versions" of the poster floating about....Does anyone know which is "current"? And for how long these changes will occur?

TickleMeElmo
01-22-2007, 02:01 PM
made changes to the list. i'm at work now and can't keep up to the list too often for right now and since i'm hearing of "different version" of the poster, I'm keeping artists like Satellite Party on until I hear they aren't playing.

I don't support using the last name to determine where that person is placed. Jarvis Cocker should be categorized as a "J."
