Is anyone else stoked to catch this act? I found out about her as soon as she hit the music scene and have been soo impressed by her album; such an amazing voice... just been waitin to catch her on tour and I believe Coachella will be my only chance! Haven't seen much talk of her on here, so i was just wondering what you cynical bastards think! ;)

Is she the one with 'Cosmic Love'? If so, that's the only song I've heard, but I looove it.

That's her, and yes, that's a beast of a song.

I hate that nearly every version of it on Youtube is set to a fan-made montage of bits of Twilight.

Way, way psyched. I'm going to be pissed if she's on late and conflicts with something else.

Dale Gribbz on these boards introduced them to me on this board, love 'em. I am in love with that woman and her voice.

She looks freakishly tall

Not freakishly tall, but she's definitely a head-turner. Quite a presence.

Since she cropped up on the lineup I've been giving the album another go, and I have to say I'm enjoying it an awful lot more this time around.

that was my favorite album of 09, actually. i had tickets to see her at the troubadour in October but couldn't go last minute and i've regretted it ever since. she puts on a crazy good live show. she's in my must-sees for coachella this year.

She's definitely this year's British "it" girl. (Or, really, last year's.) The next Winehouse, Duffy, Kate Nash, Lily Allen et. al For the most part, I think she lives up to the manufactured hype. It's nice to hear music with such... spirit, right? Looks like she can pull it off live too:

I dunno, she hasn't quite been as big as Winehouse or Lily Allen or whoever. Which I think is a good thing, in the long term - those girls made it big, to some extent, because they made good tabloid fodder or because they had one huge defining hit that will always weigh them down. Florence and the Machine had a bit of hype bubbling away for a while, it's true, but the nearest thing she had to a single "big break" here was when O2 used Cosmic Love on an ad and it caught some ears.

Welch is genuinely talented, and I suspect she's got a bit more going on than the other Brit it girls you mentioned. Manufactured hype or not, I think she might be around for a few years to come. I certainly hope so anyway; she's one of those acts I just like having around. I like thinking that artists like her can make it.

She can most definitely pull it off live. That voice is quite a staggering thing to witness.

Out of interest, the BBC did an Electric Prom session with her a while back. I'm sure there's a better quality version to be torrented somewhere, but one way or the other it's worth seeing.

Just be aware that the Proms performance is probably a bit stringsier than what she brings to a festival show.

Speaking of, whatever happened to this young lady?

Same here, cheers to DaleGribble for the good word about a month before the lineup announcement. Lungs is a brilliant debut. Hope there's no conflicts.
