during this tour they have played an acoustic version of "Wake Up" either in the crowd or in the lobby of the buildings they are playing in...i wonder if there is a chance they play in the crowd right before their set! that would be rather amazing!

I vote no way will they be in this crowd.
In montreal they played a foot away from me. It was the best moment of my life.

I hate to say it but... I saw them in New York, and they played Wake Up acoustically in the crowd and it was really just OK. I really would rather have seen them stay on stage to perform it. The crowd sucked, didn't know the words (like in the Montreal sing-along) So without that big sound, you could really only hear the closest instrument that was next to you (for me it was the tamborine, which came crazy close to my eye). I mean it was cool to say "I was a foot away from Arcade Fire" but I felt a little gypped. The novelty of it was great, but once that wore off, the overall experience was blehhhh. I love Wake Up and it should have been blaring through the speakers, bleeding out my eardrums.
Other than that the concert was brilliant, euphoric, breathtaking, semi-religious. Mainly Neon Bible songs with a few Funeral songs peppered in.
So all I'm saying is... if they don't come out into the crowd for Wake Up, which I highly doubt anyway, don't be too dissapointed - you might just save your eye from being poked out by a tamborine.

Wow man. I don't know. I had complete different feeling about it. Not a lot of bands come into the crowd to play. Its a special thing regardless of how well you can hear it.
The point of it is far beyond that.

I think it really comes down to the crowd. I saw the footage of the Montreal show and it gave me goosebumps how the audience took over and sang - even when Win left. There seemd to be a real community feel to it. But at the New York show everyone was either too timid or too unfamiliar with the song to join in, and it just felt.. weak!

When they came to SF a couple of years ago Win came out into the pit during the encore and made shoulder/arm love with many of us.

What should I do, should I dish out 300 to (if possible) get a motel room and try to get a ticket for day 2 of coachella?
Or should i take a road trip up to berkeley to see them perform twice and get a motel room for 2 nights which is about 250

speaking as a frequenter of NYC shows...most people think they are too hip to sing along. I'm not even kidding.

i personally hope they don't play an acoustic version of wake up. when they opened with that song at coachella in '05 it was magic.

I agree. I'd rather see them open with something else....and god dammit, they better play Laika! It has been absent from their setlists and it's their best song live!

i think the best section of NY crowds would be the first 5 feet closest to the stage

Laika has been in the mix. Not often but they have been playing it.

nice...lucky you I discovered them right when they finished up there huge tour. So I've been listening to the music for a year and half waiting to see them.
Finally saw them up in montreal but man I missed out on the golden arcade fire shows for sure.
All the old stuff I will be very very lucky to hear at this point. I honestly like there older stuff just as much if not more then funeral.
But I mean I really can't say that because every single song they have is amazing.

I think they'll close with a Wake Up sing along.
