They're pretty good. The guitarist used to be in Poison The Well. There is a 5 or 6 song demo floating around somewhere.

little known fact...they are managed by my friend...who just happens to handle this little thing called coachella. hmm, wonder how they got on the lineup? haha...

he also managed poison the well years ago. tie in.

haha, how many bands get signed on to play coachella without an official release? i though that was odd, but still looking forward to seeing them

I have the handful of songs that are out and like them. I sense some real potential with this band and am looking forward to hearing the album when it comes out. Definitely on my coachooser.

They supposedly killed it at CMJ, which is where all their buzz comes from. And Crown on the Ground is a very solid song...they're one of the bands I'm most excited to see put out material in the next couple of years, so I'm excited to get to see them in what I'm sure will be the blisteringly hot early afternoon.

I made it a priority to catch Sleigh Bells at SXSW and they absolutely nailed it (though they did have a couple software problems). looking forward to their set at Coachella.

These guys are gonna rock some faces off (mine included).

is it a two piece with a drum machine? or is there an off-stage dj?

From what I read when I was checking them out, the guy makes all the music using drum machines and other instruments and then the chick sings.

My thoughts exactly.

I was about to start this topic.
I saw Sleigh Bells twice at sxsw, and they bring it. The lead singer Alexis is super hot and looks innocent before the show, but she has one hell of a stage presence. They are still finding their target audience, but they will explode after Coachella. Expect big things.

As far as the sxsw shows go, their carniville show was awesome & really intimate with a badass sound system. I got some great pics. At Fader Fort, 90% of the people there were there 4 Bone & had no clue who they were. Not there target audience, I remember seeing 4 fists in the air during 1 of their songs.

Here is one of my videos

one moment and I will post a link 2 my photos. I'm iphoning and don't want to risk retyping this.

More videos on my YouTube page below.

My sxsw photos can be found here:

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Rideincircles/174734597279

There almost 800 sxsw photos, sleigh Bells is in the Friday carniville album & the Friday night fader album. I was right up front at carniville and off to the side at Fader.

My sxsw mostly was at free shows with alcohol. The Very Best At emos was the other amazing show I saw. Bone DJ Jazzy Jeff & Surfer Blood make the top 5.

I really don't see what the big deal about them is, except for how they're apparently LOUD just because they white-knuckle the mastering levels.

not the first time i thought that this year.. the artist links page often have the worst youtube videos.. i think it's aeroplane that they put a video of them dropping 'thriller', not a remix, just put the record on and drank some water..

Can you imagine this much buzz for a band who hasn't even put out a formal single yet? And the sound quality on what they've released is horrible. Catchy as fuck.

04-13-2010, 09:58 PM
Caught them when they opened for Rusko and Major Lazer in Atlanta not long ago. They were a surprisingly good fit to warm the crowd up for dubstep/dance music, the chick walks around the stage like she fucking owns it and it was super hot. The distortion wasn't as ear-shattering as I thought it would be.. anyways CHECK EM OUT!
