In past years, such acts as Wilco, Cocteau Twins, Amy Winehouse and the Doves have had to cancel a Coachella appearance. Who on this years lineup, IF ANY, is likely to cancel before the festival arrives? My guess is Grace Jones or Sly and the Family Stone for age reasons.

Sly

Sly won't cancel. He'll play for the first 15 minutes of his set and then go back to his trailer. And the band will finish without him.

Edit

I remember some awards show that honored him. He played for like 5 minutes and took off.

I would also agree that Sly would be most likely to cancel, if I were a betting man. I know the Specials, Devo and Echo and the Bunnymen are all "older" but all seem healthy to me, and if anyone of them cancelled, I would be royally pissed off, as all are "highlight bands" for me.

I would love to see Coheed and Cambria drop out and be replaced by a worthy band like Supergrass.
Supergrass > Coheed and Cambria.
Why does there always have to be a terrible emo band at Coachella every year, such as Coheed and Thrice. Isn't the Bamboozle Festival enough?

Have you listened to any recent material by Thrice? Nowhere NEAR emo.

That doesn't mean most of their older material isn't. I agree with Ken.

And yeah, Sly if any.

Coheed is emo? Really? I've always thought of them as 80's guitar metal.

I do like me some Supergrass, though... that would have been preferable.

Sly could "fly" the coup. How is his health? I mean Keith Richards had done every drug under the sun and he is still kicking. Meanwhile, Jay Retard dies at age 29. Life is not fair.

They hardly play that stuff live anyway. Seriously, they became a completely different band about four albums ago.

I heard one of their newer songs on 94.9 in your area recently and I thought it was fucking Switchfoot. Not any better.

I don't think age has much to do with who cancels. Maybe drug abuse. Clipse didn't show up last year, and they're not old.

As of RIGHT NOW, no cancellations. That is a good trend, as I remember the Cocteau Twins cancelled almost as soon as they were first announced some years back.

my money is on the reunited acts.. Faith No More, particuarly..

then again.. Pavement pretty much broke up, in part, due to the unraveling that occurred the LAST time they played Coachella.. the fact that they're reuniting there says a lot, but...

They cancelled because fragile Elizabeth Frazier could not stand to get back to together with her ex. Still the biggest disappointment of my Coachella experience.

FNM have played over 40 shows so far on this reunion tour and haven't canceled yet, many of the dates being festivals. They fucking better not cancel.

I'm hoping one of the shitty headliners cancel and get replaced w/ The Pixies or The Flaming Lips....or some of Bonaroo's lineup.

seeing as they have booked those back to back "warm-up" shows in SF leading right up to Coachella, i don't see FNM canceling. it's too important of a gig.

This is just kind of laughable. Doesn't Pavement have 15 dates before Coachella? First US show is not mutually inclusive with a reunion.

I just noticed this aaaaaaaaand laughed out loud. Bravo.
Also, I dig the idea of Sade replacing Grace.
